I am trying to figure out the cause of little grey dirt / sand mounds on my lawn and how to fix the problem. Are they ants? Termites? What do I need to get rid of them and where can I get it? Can I do it myself? I don't have a digital camera or I would post a picture. If someone has a picture of what they think it might be that would be great. Thanks.

I work in my underwear in my home office and my chair now reeks. I pass gas sometimes in the morning when I sit in my office. I am seriously looking for a safe and effective way to get the smell out of the memory foam. PLEASE - only serious responses!

It is for a bathroom overhead light as you walk in. Does the wall that encloses the switch have to be a certain depth or length?

I live in a 1,024 sq ft condo with a 12 yr old split central a/c system. Recently a bad burning smell came thro' the vents with the a/c on. After searching in vain for a dead animal in the attic (at my suggestion), a technician told me it was a freon leak and that, considering the age of the system and cost of replacing coils, etc., I should probably replace the system. Does this sound right?

I want to frame a regular roof without the use of trusses because I need the space inside and trusses wouldn't allow me enough room, plus I'd like to leave some of the wood exposed. Also, I don't want to use post and beam type construction. The house is 32x40 and the span will be 32 ft. with a 12/12 pitch and will covered with a metal roof. What size lumber will I need for the ridge beam and rafters to properly hold the roof up? Location is Kentucky, so Very little heavy snows.it's a 1- 1/2 story with bedroom upstairs on one side and on the other side of the house there is a loft overlooking the great room. With trusses, that would limit the bedroom space and loft space. Plus it wouldn't be very nice looking exposed.

The wedding was June 17. They have been hanging upside down since then and are dried out. Do I spray them with hairspray to keep them from falling apart? I would just like to keep them as nice as possible. I realize this is not a professional job. Any help to keep them looking the way they are and not fall apart would be appreciated.

We'll be gone 10 days total. I can't figure out if it's less electricity to leave it on at a higher setting so it has to work less when we get back to get down to our normal temp, or whether it's long enough to save ALL electricity for 10 days, and run it nonstop until it gets back to normal.
