don't waste your money on paint, just use lots of posters
don't waste your money on ladders, stand on chairs
don't waste your money on tools, use kitchen utensils
don't waste your money on skilled laborers, do it yourself
don't waste your money on building supplies, steal from construction sites
don't waste your money on bathroom tiles, use the ones from the roof
don't waste your money on carpet, use clothes you no longer wear

The success of any decorating scheme depends on how well it suits all the members of your family. To create a décor that you will be happy with, think about what you want and also what you don’t want.
It’s a good idea to know what you have before you begun to change things. As you begin to pull your design ideas together, think about your preference and what will work in your home.
Color can work wonders... it can change the look of a room and change your feeling about the room. You can start by looking through magazines, and catalogs. Give yourself plenty of time, it will take longer than you think, and your ideas will develop as you go.
Gathering samples is a great way to begin. If you are starting with a color, your samples might include fabric, paint chips, wallpaper, carpet, wood, stone, and tile.
Knowing what you can spend on a project will give you a clearer idea of what you can achieve. If you’ll on a limited budget, mark off those things that will make the most difference, such as a new wall color and a new sofa.
You can set the mood of a room in lots of ways, such as lights, and furnishings. There are no hard or fast rules or must-do sequence for this process.

Paint is very economical. It is also cheap cause you can achieve an elegant interior through the use of paint! you just have to choose a paint color that you like and voila! tiles are also cheap. you must be creative in choosing. read some helpful tips. and I suggest you to have a theme for your home...then adapt a style in every part of your room or make a theme of yours too!. Accessorizing is one of the best thing that you can do to make your room look elegant as possible. choose cheap paintings and match it up to the color of your walls. organize and don't spend too much on those things that you really don't need. less is more. and think about this. expensive and very intruiging patterns will give you that success--this isn't true. you can make your home very unique with the style of your own. be inspired! good luck!!!

For Bathroom this is what I did...
1. Empty and completely clean, sanitize bathroom. (floors, walls, even ceiling, sink, toilet, and tub). Fill in any grout in tiles. (Cleaning supplies, grout filler= ($10- $15)
2. Paint walls with a sand color near floor, ocean blue near top. (Small cans/about $10 bucks). Attach wall border between the two colors or if use only one color put up near ceiling ($10- $15)
3. New rugs set (from someplace like Family Dollar, like $10.00) included rectangular rug, contour, lid cover, tank cover, and seat cover.)
Used same oceany blue color
4. New cushiony toilet seat, white. ($10.00)
3. 2 sets good cotton towels to hang on towel bars. ($20)-bath towel, hand towel, face towel.
Used a white with blue and tan stripe.
4. Bathroom accessories set which usually= soap dish, soap or lotion dispenser, toothbrush holder, and tumbler (about $10, less than $20) and knick knacks, and candles ($10- $20)...
I chose a seashell looking set and put little things I got from trip to beach in there like sand in a bottle, seashells, and wood sculpture.
And,
5. Probably most important, (besides the cleaning)= shower curtain, this defines your setting. (About $20 bucks for one of the fabric jobs w/a liner. avoid cheap plastic curtains.) And you can get the little decorative hooks, too for about an extra $10. And/or a fancy curtain bar or those collapsible decorative bars).
... $150 bucks.
Have Fun with it.

A fresh coat of paint, then a trip to the Dollar store has worked for me. They have rugs, pillows, throws, lamps, and what-not, for the bedroom, tons of kitchen stuff, and bathroom decorations.

Go to lowes or local home improvement stores to find paint (in gallons) that a person had mixed but didn't buy. You can normally get a gal for $5.00 at lowes. This is a cheap idea for new color.

Before you spend alot of money on new "shabby chic" items make sure you look at thrift stores first. It could save you tons of money and usually is already weathered for you. Good Luck!
