My wife spilled hair dye onto our bathroom cabinet and wonder if there is anyway to remove the stain.

My husband did the same thing with black hair dye on our oak wood vanity. The only product that worked is available at the beauty supply store. It is called Clean Touch,Haircolor Stain Remover and costs $2.99. It will also remove excess dye from the skin or on carpet or towels. I saturated a rag with it and agitated it into the area with an old toothbrush constantly dabbing with the soaked rag.

There is a two-part wood bleach that is available at some good lumber/hardware stores that is a powerful stain remover. It should be applied and then rinsed off as the instructions explain. It is caustic and can cause burns, so be careful.

You can refinish the cabinet, sand and revarnish the spot, or paint over them if they are old. The first two options might be best left to professionals though.
