I have Carpenter ants and those little bity brown ants in my home. I heard putting down baby powder or bay leaves may help. Is that true? Are there any other ways besides these? HELP!!!

My builder says 6 inches below the top of the foundation wall and quotes Section 323 paragraph 5 of some code. All I can find when I search on building code sites relates to slope being 5% or 6% away from the foundation for a distance of 10 feet. He claims my new landscaping may void any warranties against water intrusion.

The unit runs but the fan does not move. I had it checked for a routine service a few months ago and everything was fine. Could it be the condensor unit and if so is this an expensive thing to do or would it be more feasible to buy a completely new unit. As soon as I realized the fan wasn't moving, I shut the thermostat off to prevent further problems, hopefully that wa the right thing to do.

It is about 9 years old also.

I am also under eminent domaine with my home and do not want to put alot of money into it to be taken from me.

Anty suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have wood floors throughout my home. Is it safe to clean them with Murphy's? I heard that it ruins the finish? Thanks.

I am a single parent and rent a house for £700 a month with help from housing benefit. My daughter has bad eczema and the doctor has said it is caused by dust in carpets. I want to get the kitchen laid with lino, there is a disgusting 70's style carpet in there, the landlady said that she would pay for it (£250) but put my rent up by £20 a month from now on, I would have paid forthe carpet within a year and still paying for it for the whole amont of time i live here, I like living here and think we will be here a long time, do you thin this sounds like a bad deal from my landlady, what should I do?
