If you are speaking of a specific mobile home, try looking for the 'data plate'. This is normally a letter-size page of paper glued to the inside of a cabinet door, in the kitchen, usually under or over, the sink.
This data plate should tell you what zones the home was manufactured for, its serial number, model, where it was made, etc.
Some manufacturers will stamp, weld, or otherwise write the serial number on the steel frame, either on or near the trailer tongue, or 'hitch'.
