Women's Health - October 2007

About 2.5 yrs ago I had a total hyst. and a bladder sling I was only 29 at the time. Everything has gone well for the most part. I had some problems after and then getting my muscles to work again but now I am having alot of hip pain right around the pelvic area. The pain is worse at night it even wakes me up but it has gotten where it bothers me during the day too. I am not even really sure where the screws are or anything like that but it hit me today that maybe the two things could be related. Does anybody think so or maybe have had experience with this.

Right now, my girlfriends breasts are more sensitive/hurt more when touched than normal.. is that also a sign her period is coming or possibly of pregnancy?

I'm new on birth control and am about to start my third pack. I am supposed to start my period today, but haven't started yet. Is that normal? I am supposed to start today because I took my last hormonal pill yesterday and start the "sugar pills" today.

I missted the pharmacy today. (Darn it!) I cannot pick up my pills until tomorrow (Monday) after 7pm. I do not plan to have intercourse until mid week. Could I get pregnant? If I do have intercourse I will use the vaginal film any other suggestions?

I had a baby 4 months ago, and had intercourse once since then. I am not pregnant now, have not gotten my period yet, and just started taking the pill. How long should I wait for it to take effect?

i'm only in highschool but my gyn gave me the pill(the lowest dose...it should still work right?) because i have really bad periods...they've been better since i've been taking this over the counter the medicine but when blood clots come out (and on the 1st day) it's still horrible

i get really weak in my legs and pale during my period (my mom sad i fainted once)...the feeling's worse than pain...when i'm better i feel like my soul has come back in my body (corny i know)....but i'm scared to take it cuz breast cancer has been in my family and i read the side effects and they were scary (like blood clots and stuff....it makes the vomiting which scared me look like nothing)

so any advice or comfort....o and if the pill is the lowest dose will it still work good (my gyn said if it's not than see her but wth is that supposed to mean?)

for the past month and a half i can't bear to have sex..then when i do and use a douche the burning is horrible. I dont know whats wrong with me. my mom thinks endometriosis or PID. i'm not sure. All i know is that i had a UTI and then took antibiotics to get rid of it. It seemed like it didnt even work at all. but i went back to the hospital and i didnt have a uti. i have pelvic pain and sometimes light bleeding. please help!!

I recently started taking the pill, I have been changed just last month to the pill called dianette. I was just wondering what its like and how dangerous it is compared to the others because my mum has heard it is the most dangerous causing clots than the other pills and that people who are on it should change to a different one! Can anyone throw some light on this situation for me!

What happens before you can get the birth control shot?
My sister is going to ship off to basic training in January...
She wants to get the shot.

Theres a doctor that says he has to run a few tests before he gives it to her.

Is the doctor just trying to make money off her?
What tests do you need to run?

The nurses already gave her a physical exam...
and the doctor says HE has to now?
The nurses didnt find anything out of the ordinary and basically said she looks good.
Im wondering if this doctor is just trying to be a perve?

Can someone tell me whta they had to do before they got the birth control shot?

Ok, well two questions really. Firstly, I am 18, and have been going out with my boyfriend for a year. My Mum has just found out that for the past couple of months we have been sleeping together. I didnt tell her straight away, which looking back, I realise I should have been honest, but she doesnt approve of anything like this. Now she is very disappointed in me, and makes me feel cheap. How can I show her that I didnt take my decision lightly, and that I do love my boyfriend? I dont regret my decision, but wish I could help her understand me.

Secondly, Im now obviously going to have to go on the pill. We have been very careful, but I dont want to risk pregnancy. But im a little worried, that like my Mum, the doctor might also judge me? Has anyone my age experienced this?

Any help, advice etc would be great. Thanks.

Has anyone ever experienced after labour and delivery, a bean sized fleshy red bump that showed up on the lower end of the vaginal opening? I had a pap but the MD said he couldnt see anything.. but now that I look thats what I see.... its quite painful too.. Ive had this since giving birth 5 weeks ago... just wondering if anyone else has experienced this!

I'm 17 yrs old, I'm 5'3" and I weight 210 lbs. I went to Lane Bryant to get sized for a bra (as I have never been sized my whole life and have always just worn the biggest size I could find) and the sales associate told me I am a 36 H!!!! They don't even carry this size in the store, just online!! I am motified. I do understand that I am overweight, and this plays a big part..but even when I was thin, I had huge boobs..just not this big. They are really ruining my life. I cant find anything to wear..I cry every night due to back and neck pains..and they are just too much weight to carry. I cant exercise because its too hard. I do not want a reduction. Does anyone know of anything I can do, or any exercises that might target my breasts? I need help quick! Any CONSTRUCTIVE advice would be much appreciated!!

I'm scared that if I lose a massive amount of weight all over, my boobs will get all saggy and I will be left with stretch marks. Kind of like what happens to peoples stomach after they loose lots of weight.

I didn't mean exercise is too hard because I'm lazy, I meant exercise is too hard when you have 2 GIANT watermelons in the way of everything. I can't do ****..can't run..can't play a sport..nothing. Imagine having to carry two heads on your chest all day.

I have this weird bubbly feeling in my stomach, it happened when I was eating, and I also get nauseous when I am eating and I eat more than I normally do and have had the biggest urge to eat anything grape flavored, or anything italian like pizza, ravioli. if you were to go to my hips.. and move over to the front of my body though.. like right at the bottom of my rib cage.. i have this weird feeling there like a kink or something extra is there that shouldnt be... it hurts to touch my ribs.. but i cant feel anything abnormal sticking out.. which doest mean their isnt anything though.. seeing as how im not a doctor... anyone have any idea what this might be? i've had it for about 3 or 4 days now...

I was Raped when I was a pre-teen Twice. And Both times I became Pregnant. The Problem?? I am now in my 20s and in a "Legal situation" Because of it . Details: I never told anyone about the "rapes" and my attacker ( whom I lived with) was in a legal gaurdian position over me and had my kids given up and ordered it "Sealed" with a court order AGAINST ME from seeing my kids WITHOUT ME GOING TO TRIAL. Now I want to prosecute him. The only Problem?? When I confronted him about what had happened he Denied he ever raped me and he EVEN denied ever getting me "pregnant" ( he tells people I dont have any kids ) In order to protect himself. Now a lawyer says I have to "PROVE" I had kids. My question is this: CAN A DOCTOR TELL IF YOU HAD KIDS IF IT WAS YEARS AGO?? AND CAN HE TELL HOW MANY?? CAN HE TELL THEESE THINGS EVEN IF IT WERE A C-SECTION??
