is it important to take the different color pills on birth control?

the ones that your supposed to take on your period?

No, they are placebos (sugar pills) and are only there to remind you when to start taking the medicated ones. I've been on the pill for years, and don't bother with the sugar ones. Just remember to start the new pack on time, or you will not be covered.

They are not necessary but you need to be sure to start the next pack on the right day.
