try those patches you can buy at the drug store that are like stick on heating pads. they help a lot. take midol or some type of pain killer at the first sign of pain. i find that when i wait to long they don't go away when i take the medicine.

I feel your pain..I dread that time of the month, I am married and still come home from work and cry. There are alot of good answers here!
Get on birth control..this HELPS...I didnt have ANY cramps
Call your dr sometimes they will prescribe Darvocet or IBU 800mgs...(mine gave me Darvocet, all I need is 1 or 2 and I am good after 1/2 hour)
Hot bath relaxes your stomach muscles, CRAMPS....relax and stay in there until your no longer in pain..dont get out too soon or your stomach will tighten up again.
Heating pad
Take a sleeping pill or benadryl and sleep it off
Lie on the floor, with your knees on the group, arms steched in front of you touching the floor, butt in the air...pressure off that area and stretchs the muscles.
Vitamins or aspirin starting taking them 2 or 3 days before period if you are regular...and this lessons the blow...
Good luck I always tell my hubby "i am going to die" so i know how you feel, "its no fun to be a girls sometimes."

Midol! I have the worst cramps and always have since my younger days. I have tried Pamprin, Tylenol, and others non e of them touched any of my symptoms. I can not survive without Maximum Strength Midol. Even now at 46 I still endure them and I always buy 1 box of Midol every month like clockwork. For CrAmPiNg, water retention, moods, less heavy periods and no back pain! It is the only way my family can stand me.
Make sure it's Maximum and not PMS formula!!! Take them at the first sign of cramps....

its impossible to cure cramps forever, but you can keep them away. Drink good amounts of water and take a warm bath. This may help reduce the pain or take it away for a bit.
Tip: When the pain gets to a point where its unbearable, stand up, bend over and touch your knees. ( It almost looks like your trying to catch your breath when you do this )
You could also lie down on your side and pull your knees on your chest so your almost curled up into a ball.

I am the same way. I used to come home from school crying, my grandma would pick me up from school, take me home, give me two asprin, send me to the warm waterbed with a heating pad and I would sleep. Woke up like I never had cramps. Now I just take pain relievers and deal with the pain til it goes away. Also, another person suggested birth control-another good suggestion.

Well you can't actually stop the pain. You can either hold it in if ur strong enough or you can take tylinol or advil to ease it. If you don't want any medicine or anything, take a nice bath in the morning or put a hot pad or something on ur abdomen. GOOD LUCK!

I know what you mean, I usually take a ton of ibuprofen which works wonders. I've also found that ignoring it and not thinking about it help to lessen the pain, so I usually try to have some fun to take my mind off of it.
