Women's Health - May 2007

Well, I just started birth control this month to help regulate and now I'm on the week that I'm supposed to have my "period". I know 99% of all the details about the pill that I should know, but I have one question:

Is the blood that's coming out supposed to be brown/dark brown/black? It has it's moments where it's pinkish, but for the majority of this week, it's been dark brown/almost black. I'm on day 4 of the placebo week. Any suggestions/ comments/ reassurence?

Ok, so i just started my period in March. It didn't last very long. And then I had another in the middle of April. Since then, i havn't had one. Should I be worried? I mean, when you first start your period, shouldn't it be a little off?

I have a non hormonal Iud, after having sex i sometimes bleed, and get cramp similar to period pain but not as painful (although i do get mega period pain), i also have sometimes noticed a smell a few days after the bleeding and cramps, should i get it removed. I am reluctant to have it removed as i like the security of knowing it is an effective contraceptive and before i had it in i used to get much worse period pains and heavier periods than i do now, i used to be prescribed Mefanamic Acid and even double doses of this wouldnt ease the pain much, this was every period, whereas now they are usually manageable, with only the odd one being this severe.

at first i thought i was pregnant because my period did not come for almost a month or so. now that it came it only comes out when i use the restroom in a dark red color. and its been about 3 weeks since i had it. so i was wondering if its possible for it to last that long or even longer since i had a delay on it.

I have been on birth control (Alesse) for over 1 1/2 years and this is the first time I have noticed spotting midway through my cycle. And I am pretty good at keeping to my pill taking routine, without missing a pilll for months and months now. Is there anything to be worried about??

im going to a water park tommorow and i have my period, but im afraid to use a tampon, is it possible to use a very small pad in water, or no? if not, how do i insert a tampon?!?

My husband's sister recently got a job as the nurse at my gynecologist's office. I like her but I think I would be uncomfortable with her being my nurse since going to the gynecologist is something very personal to me. I'm also not sure I would want her to be the first to know if I were pregnant (she'd have to keep it a secret). I'd be more comfortable breaking the news to all family at once. On the other hand, I may get better care if she's my nurse. What do you think?

I have been with my boyfriend for a few years and we are getting married this July. Since the day i met him, I was so deeply in love, and my feelings have not changed. For about 2 and a half years we have been sexually active and our sex life is great. But lately, for about the past 7 months, I have not wanted to have any type of sexual activity at all. I still love him and it has nothing to do with that.

I have depression, anxiety and bi-polar.. could that possibly have anything to do with it? Or is it all of the insane stress i go through from my job, our wedding, and money issues? Or do you think it could be something to do with our relationship?

I have talked to him and he understands. Some nights we will try, and im just not into it at all! I need help and suggestions... thank you all.

so my periods came this morning fairly heavy, well heavyer then i useuly am right at the start but then its now really really light wich isnt right do u reacon that its stress?
u see ive been really stressed and that why i think it was late in the first place

does this happen with stress???
