Does this go beyond abnormal? I used to ignore it before but now it just seems too weird. I have had my period for many years so isn't the abnormal things supposed to stop by now?

I have ovarian cysts... they cause long periods and weird cycles (mine is not the regualr 28 day but rather 45-55 days).
Best thing to do is talk to your doctor and she will probably control your cycle with Birth control. It worked wonderful for me when I was on it. The birth control also controls the ovarian cysts and can even reduce them.
I also bleed for a good 5 days, but continue to have brown discharge (bloody) for another full week or so. However, I am not on birthcontrol anymore either. But when I was, I did have a regular period, which was VERY nice.
Get on the pill... it will help even everything back out to normal.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I have long periods too, 8 days, and that's the way I've always been. I don't know about you, but mine is genetic. Most women in my family have long periods too.

Sounds as if it is time to confer with a doctor who will probably put you on birth control pills that will regulate the length of your periods.

oh goodness don't mention periods, i'm cramping like crazy now and popping advil like it is pez....lol i think that is too long, mine last about 4 days max but a few years ago i was really stressed out and had one last 6 months straight, it was horrible and the doc said it was just stress.

everyone's period is different dont worry about it ur fine and if ur really worried ask ur docotor and i know what ur mean mine seem to last 4 ever right now am have such bad cramps

it's normal for you. some women have very short, light periods and others (like me) have long, heavy periods.

Its normal.. Especially, if you barely started.. My doctor said it could take a couple of years to settle...

if you're young its VERY normal because you're irregular. If you're not you should definitely go get checked out.
