I would NOT suggest depo for you because many women have problems conceiving after coming off of depo (though I've heard a friend or two get pregnant while ON depo).
I am on Kariva and I have had no side affects or anything negative.
Talk to your doctor about what method is good for you. There are MANY brands of pills, and not all are bad as your friend said.

Orthro Evra does have its sides effects but granted I'm 20 yrs old and I have been on Orthro Evra for 3 years and the only problem I have had with it is that I did have to have my Gal Bladder removed due to stones. I dont know if that was related to being on the patch but besides that I think it is fine.
Once I took my patch off for 3 weeks and my cycle did not change and I didnt get pregnant.... and thats another things good about it. Getting pregnant while on the patch is well to me impossible.. like I said I have been on it for 3 years
(since I had my son) and I have not had another no matter how much I do it..... But like some of the people said its going to be basically up to your body to decide which one fits you best and yes you should talk to your doctor about all of your options.. Best of Luck......

The orthro evra patch isn't really that safe, it has been causing a lot of blood clots. The best pill I have taken with no side effects for myself was Yasmin. Yasmin is has a low dose of estrogen so it doesn't really give you mood swings, it also has something in it to help keep you from retaining water, which lowers chances of gaining weight and you can get pregnant as soon as you want. Another plus about Yasmin is that you should have really light periods.

patches are not really safe because they have side effects and provide too much hormones at one time. There are different pills that have less side effects. talk to your GYN.

You should talk to your doctor about this decision. There are many different types of birth control: IUD, pill, condom, female condom, spermicides, shots, etc. You should talk to your doctor about your options.

Hi, I would have suggested depo but seeing that you haven't had kids previously, please check out where you can have Knorr plant. It is implanted next to your armpit and will last for 5 years but you are free to have it taken out when you want kids. It is one of the safest methods that I know of.
