After being on the shot for several years and gaining weight as a result, is it possible that stopping the shot will reduce weight back to normal/starting weight?

Eventually the weight comes off after getting off of depo. You may not get back to your starting weight unless you start working out and eating healthier.

Yes you would lose weight. I gained while on depo and 3 months after stopping, I lost quite a lot of weight, to the weight that I am comfortable with. I am not fat and I am not thin either.

I gained weight by coming off birth control. Now that I'm back on Depo, my weight has been steady.
