I had/have an ingrown toenail. I got most of it out myself (cant afford doc), the swelling is gone, a little redness is still there, and the tip corner is still tender. (I got it out yesterday). I have been soaking it in epsom warm saltwater, periodically putting peroxide on it, and putting antibitonic cream (neosporin) on it constantly.
The little bit of puss that was there in the beginning is not there anymore. I also can walk on it fine now, just when that tip corner gets hit it does hurt a lot.
The way I take care of it, getting a staph infection from it is very unlkely right?
I talk to my mother in law, which is an RN and she said to just keep soaking it and putting cream on it, and it should be fine.
What do you think?
