Well I live in Phoenix, Arizona so we can get temperatures up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. So that's about as much as I can handle. We were rated the sweatiest city for three years in a row now, lol.

As far as weather, once the heat index gets over 100 degrees outside, it's pretty unpleasant. Heat index is a measure of the interaction of the temperature and the humidity. The link will take you to a heat index calculator hosted by the National Weather Service.

In the dry desert--over 96 is too hot. In New Jersey, over 91-humidity plays a part. In Hawaii--105-the trade winds help.

I live in Kansas, and it gets really hot here in the summer. Really bad humidity. I would say that anything over 100 is too hot for me. But I would rather be hot than cold.

85 is getting up there - I live in the SF Bay Area, where we rarely have days in the 80s at the coast.
Of course, July & August stay in the 60s, but that's a different weather pattern than the rest of the year.

I was in the middle east in summer 2003 and it got to be over 130 f quite often. I think that is way toooooo hot. If you know which way the middle east is from where you are standing, i suggest throwing up a salute in their general direction. They (Our men and women in uniform) are definitely sucking over there right now.
