I'm not sure how much exactly it is. I know when my daughter was getting TPN, I was taught not to allow ANY air in her tubing (central line). The pump used to administer her TPN would also stop and beep to alert me to any air that it picked up in the line, so that I could remove it.

Im not sure why your interested but its hardly any air at all. It passes into the blood stream and stops blood from going to the important places.
