Any ways to drive anger away? No joking around please.

I keep repeating the same patterns. It is a vicious cycle of drinking to self medicate on top of isolating myself from society. I feel like no one cares for me except family. As you get older, you have a desire to establish relationship with others besides family, but it seems to me that I just can't figure it out. Is this just a bad case of the 2o somethings, or do I really need some kind of serious help? am already seeing a couselor and I feel like that is simply wasting 400/mo. as it doen't seem to be progressive. Can anyone realte to this?

i have an aunt who has been on an anti-depressant and she claims it makes her sleep a lot, to the point that she has been having trouble even making it into work. she misses out on all kinds of functions and is usually at home sleeping. she also gets sick (i think diarrhea of some sort) and misses work because of that, although i believe her sickness is psychosomatic. she has asked us to help motivate her to go to work, but she keeps calling in sick. what do you do when someone is actually physically sick, although you suspect it's more due to mental stress? do you tell them to push through it? also, should i suggest she try a new medicine since she is sleeping so much?

I understand that excessive sleep can be a symptom of mental problems, but can a person become addicted to sleep? People can be addicted to other activities (being online, working out, shopping) and it is considered an addiction. It disrupts life, isolates fr. family/friends, crave it all the time, deny it to others, etc. just like other additions, yet it is just referrred to as a 'symptom' of depression, or of drinking too much, or taking downers...etc. If a person sleeps all the time, WANTS to sleep all the time, etc. can't it be something other than a symptom?
