not that my life is threatened but they are going to beat me up or something like that, can you tell me where the email came from, what address or phone no. or real name of a person or is that against the law

If they are not using there real email I would change email addresses and report the email.(save it and or print it out! You shouldnt be getting threatend. The proper authorities should be able to use there IP address from the computer that is being used!

if u r receiving ur email using outlook 2000 u can right click on the message- properties- details and u ll see the IP adress as well as the email adress of the person. U can check with the provider for that IP telling them u ve been treatened. I doubt they will give u the information, but they can contact the autorities or u can do so

Give a copy of the email to the cops (for the good that will do) and change your email address. Try www.intellus.com there is a fee but they're really good. Also if they registered under a false name/address it will be hard.

If a man or woman is sending abusive or insulting messages then they are committing offences less than the telecommunications act. report it to the police. then again hi there may be warned less than the harassment act that's extra probable. that's going to placed a end to their behaviour. make positive you keep the messages and a note which includes date and time of the different behaviour in the route of you.

maybe you should contact someone in law inforcement... find out what your rights are in the way of protection. sometimes people are just messing around and they think it's funny. other times, you have to really be concerned with threats. with someone emailing you, it may or may not be a serious threat. but i would see if anything could be done to find out if it is.

print out the email and take it to the cops.
