it depends who told you that. sensitive about what? some people are thich-skinned, they don't give a damn if people criticise them or make remarks. they just don't care and continue living in their own way. but some people get offended easily, can not stand criticism, lose temper, start crying, can not control emotions, keep on thinking of small and trivial matters, can not tolerate indifference and callousnes, or interference and hurting behaviour. that's what can be termed sensitivity, and the nature is set in th chilhood itself.haven't you noticed some children are fussy and cry easily, whereas other children are of cheerful disposition? your parents might have brought you up in such a way that you tend to overreact. now inin order to cope up with the situation, analyse yourself what is it in your nature that people comment as over-sensitivity. you can not change your basic personality, but can change your attitude. first of all, don't react immediately in any given situation, cool and then express. tis will help you to avoid unpleasantness and embarrassing situations. secondly, even if people try to offend you, ignore, so gradually they will change that you are not giving them the satisfaction of watching you get irritated. learn tarot for concentration and inner strength. noticing your changed behavior, people aroun also will not call you sensitive any more, and this symptomatic relief will boost your confidence in yourself.and yes, please your sensitive nature for creative engagements, like writing, poetry, undergoing psychotherapy so you can yourself be a therapist, and look beyond yourself, instead of focussing and nursing the concept, oh, i am too sensitive, what should i do? act on these guidelines and let me know if it worked, i am sure it will.

You got to ask them what do they mean when they say that and learn what makes other people think you are too sensitive; try and change if possible after all you will only hurt yourself if you continue with this trend.

Learn some defensive tactics. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even the very stupid. Can you tell the difference between an honest opinion and a stupid one? Also, some people enjoy hurting the feelings of others. Don't give them that joy.
