How do I know if someone I love or myself has a mental illness, or just need a change of life in general? How do you know you're always depressed because you have someone in your life bringing you down....or if it's just you bringing others down due to your own illnesses to the point where they stop liking you because you're irratable, demanding, moody ect. I'm saying this generally because I know people like this and I am starting to wonder if I can be a bit manic with my blow outs and then I quickly snap out of it and apologize my heart out and feel so bad and get depressed over it. Then later I am giving to everyone, and can control myself when people like at work give me a hard time...I can be nice no matter what. I feel almost two faced...and some of my friends are seeming short as well. How can you decide if it's bad relationships or just perhaps a long lived illness??

Just out of curiosity, do people with aspergers syndrome have a harder time in being open to others (as far as talking about relationship issues or issues about him/herself) and like to keep any secrets they have inside their head to themselves?

I very often feel desperate and unhappy, even when the things looks well. Anything could make me really sad - a movie or song, or problem that couldn't be solved. I don't show this to other people, just hide somewhere alone and cry. My mum says I am a creative person ( I draw and write poetry) and that's how the creative persons are - unhappy for no reason. I sometimes think it has something to do with that I was raped 3 years ago. But I was having these moods even before this. Could this be any mental disease? Could it be treated?

I have been taking wellbutrin now for more then two weeks and I am experiencing servere headaches daily, as well as nausea and fatigue. I have been playing the guessing game with my doctor trying to find out what medication will work for me. The only med that I have found to be beneficial to me (Effexor) my insurance will not cover without trying several others and failing on them. I know that it takes several weeks before a medication comes to it's full strength, but the Wellbutrin only seems to be making me sick.

I stopped taking Lamictal for my BP 2 about a month ago. I went through the initial withdrawls stages just fine, but last Thursday I got a headache. I still have the same headache.
I was in the ER yesterday for it, and they gave me 2 shots of morphine, and some painkillers. The doctor said it might be because I quit the Lamictal cold turkey. Is this possible even though I stopped the Lamictal so long ago??

My husband and I are walking in the Out of the Darkness walk in Chicago in August and we have had SUCH a hard time getting donations. Is it where we live? Is this just such a hard subject to talk about? Do any of you feel that it is morally wrong to donate to this cause? If you could donate would you?

This walk is for the prevention of suicide and depression. Would you feel differently if it were just for depression and not suicide?
