I have been taking wellbutrin now for more then two weeks and I am experiencing servere headaches daily, as well as nausea and fatigue. I have been playing the guessing game with my doctor trying to find out what medication will work for me. The only med that I have found to be beneficial to me (Effexor) my insurance will not cover without trying several others and failing on them. I know that it takes several weeks before a medication comes to it's full strength, but the Wellbutrin only seems to be making me sick.

First and foremost, you need to contact your doctor immediately and make sure that he/she is aware of the problem. Secondly, you shouldn't try to tough it out, if the side effects are too great, if, after 10-12 days they are hurting you more than the medicine is helping you, then you should stop taking the medicine.

Wellbutrin is used for depression and
any mind altering medication will usually
take approximately 4-6 weeks to overcome
side effects. My concern is for severe headaches & nausea to last 2 weeks like that. Make sure your doctor is aware of this.
good luck :-)

Wellbutrin didn't help me much at all. I just tolerated it until I realized it really was doing nothing for me and weaned off.
It depend on how long you took it to see the side effects abate.
I took Effexor for several years and it's withdrawal was uncomfortable, but Wellbutrin's was much worse after only a few months. My unprofessional advice is to talk to the Dr. about something like Zoloft to wean yourself off crazy Wellbutrin. That's what I did, and it worked until I found the right drug. For me that was an anticonvulsive. (My depression comes from seizures.)

The headaches are more likely the reduction in caffeine. Did you quit cold turkey? I would taper off that. In regards to the Wellbutrin, I also take the generic version and have been for years. I personally never noticed a difference but let me just say...EVERYONE else did! :> I went off them a couple of times and i was very moody and irritable. But like I said, You will not notice a drastic difference but that does not mean it's not working. Good Luck!

it can take 2-4 weeks for the side effects to diminish... but They may not ga away at all. I know quite a few people (mostly family) who have tried it and couldn't handle the side effects.

You need to call your doctor or Rx if you are having severe side effects.Maybe your doctor will put you on a lower dose and increase as you get used to it. I'm sorry but those are my only suggestions.
