I've found myself in a vicious cycle - right now I'm in the insomnia part. I'm terribly sleepy, but as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm wide awake. No racing thoughts, no recent change in medications or stress level, I just lay there wide awake for hours waiting for sleep to come. I wake up 4-5 hours later, nowhere near rested, and again can't get to sleep that night. This goes on for 3-4 days, and then it reverses: I sleep 9 hours at night, stay up for 3-4 hours, take a nap, up again for 3-4 hours, and sleep all night - for 3-4 days.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? If yes, any suggestions for how to get myself on a regular schedule?

I can't take sleeping pills because of potential drug interaction with prescription meds.

I don't expect free health care, yet I do deserve health care and have been refused by insurer"s because an ear infection that caused a hole in my eardrum. It's been repaired, it cost me $10,000 out of pocket with a "Private Pay Discount",Discount? I believe that health should be a thing everyone could have and that our government should be able to instruct the cash cow insurer's either to accept everyone for a fee. Or that the government (through our taxes should provide, even if taxes go up some) an "assurance" of health care to all people. I make close to $80,000 a year and can't be insured, crazy. The thought of being wheeled to the mourge because of no insurance before my time, or having my organs donated when I could be healed(more cost effective for the hospitals and doctors) is pure terrorisiom! How about the "War on that Terrorism?"

I can almost never wake up unless I get 10-12 hours. My roommate even said I was sleep walking once. Despite all this sleep I get, I feel lethargic and have quit exercising. This is affecting my school work as well. What should I do?

I have black stuff under both of my eyes, i know at my age, i shouldn't worry about it but i do. The black stuff are mostly from not sleeping well but i can't just sleep more because of some personal issues. Does anyone know a way that makes the black eyes less obvious without spending too much money?

for quite a while I have had various problems and I feel as though maybe they are all related in some way but wonder if they are just average things.

*really bad pains in the stomach after eating any heavy foods like a meal. Yet when this happens I feel like I'm starving and could eat more even though it hurts.
*hungry always and have to make sure i dont overdo it
*not overweight but only just in normal weight range, I would find it easy to lose weight if i could stop the cravings for sweet things late at night
*bad mood swings when i haven't eaten enough and people even know it now
*try not to drink to much because otherwise i have to go to the toilet all the time, but that could be partly due to a medication i am on for skin troubles i suddenly developed when i turned about 19.
*Shaky hands when i do anything physical sometimes bad enough not to be able to drink from a glass
there are more things but the doctors havent made any connections. Have any ideas?

Can the cold water in a swimming pool numb your genitals causing you to not have any sensations?

My boyfriend and I were having sex in the pool and I couldnt even feel him inside me. He said that he wasnt feeling anything either. We never have a problem anywhere else.

I class myself as an insomniac and frequently sleep less than 5 hours per day. I get annoyed with myself for not going to bed when I feel tired because then I suddenly become wide awake and find it hard to shut-off. I must say, however, when I do sleep longer (around 8 hours) I look bloody awful the next morning- with big saggy bags beneath my eyes NOT ATTRACTIVE!

Hi there, I have a weird tender spot on my index finger. It is very very tiny and you can barely see it. It is brown. I'm pretty sure it isn't a splinter as i'm not really around wood any. It really hurts whenever I rub it against something (clothing, keyboard, etc.). I'm about to put a medicated bandaid on it, but was hoping I could get y'alls opinions on it....thanks.

stresses me out, so I thought I'll just take this drug and see if one day I realize I'm not smoking anymore. Should I feel bad about doing it that way? It is an amazing drug. I find myself "forgetting" to smoke. Hours and hours will go by and I'll be like "wow, haven't had a smoke, still don't feel like it." So my question is: should I feel bad that I haven't picked an actual quit date and don't plan on doing so?

Since when is it not okay for urine to be yellow? I went to the doctor's and he informed me that it should be clear. Did I not get the email?

I know if it's orange you have too much salt in your system and if it is green you have too much sugar in your system, but I always thought it was supposed to be yellow.

Why am I always out of the loop?

Since approximately March of this year my eye's have been producing over exesive amount of tears or watery eye's. I have been to the doctor and have been perscribed with allery medicine. I have also been to the eye doctor that gave me eye drops containing antihystimes for the problem, I have also taken prior to going to these doctors over the counter medicine like sudifed, clariton and nothing seems to help allergy like symtoms of the eye. I would like to know if anyone else has this problem or anyone else experiencing this problem what they might suggust of their treatment of diagnosis of what this may be. I have a hard time driving, doing my daily routines with the annoyance that my eye's are always bubbled up with tears, and the contant wiping of my eye's making it difficult to function. "By the way the doctor did rule out sinus infection". Please advise.
