That's a tough one. I had posture problems, and they messed up my back pretty badly. You could use the possibility of life-long dehabilitating and chronic back problems as motivation! In any case, my chiropractor suggested putting a sticker anywhere where I could see it, like on the television (not the screen, of course), my bathroom mirror, or my computer at work. That way I'd see the sticker and be reminded to sit up straight. I will be honest: it worked great for awhile, but eventually I got used to the sticker and stopped noticing it. But it is worth a try! I'll tell you, it is worth getting into the habit. You wouldn't want my back and neck problems for the world!

If all your parents have to ground you for is your posture, you must be a pretty good kid! I have trouble remembering to sit up straight too. You could try just looking at the people around you and noticing their posture, that might remind you to sit up straight. Or, you could make it part of your sitting, "routine," so when you first sit down, put your feet flat on the floor and straighten up. Good luck! I will star your question to see if anyone else has better tips that I can use too!

wear a corset. youll walk like a robot for a day or two and you may not be able to sit down at first, but itll straighten your back and if you wear it long enough your back will stay straight after you take it off. i have ballerina posture from wearing corsets for a year and a half. alternatively see a chiropractor (sp?). just imagine a straight line going from the top of your head, through your neck, to your bottom, knees and ankles. when you sit, forget about the knees and ankles. eventually itll become second nature.

You should make a visit to a chiropractor. I was skeptical at first, but it really helped.
