I can almost never wake up unless I get 10-12 hours. My roommate even said I was sleep walking once. Despite all this sleep I get, I feel lethargic and have quit exercising. This is affecting my school work as well. What should I do?

You might be suffering from the sleep disorder of somnambulism or sleep-walking. We normally need 7-8 hrs of sleep for anabolism ( building up of tissue cells) and to recharge our energy. We also need sleep for growth.
As you are still in school; you're most likely an adolescent. You need the extra hrs for growth. So sleeping for 10-12 hrs is not considered to be too much. . However, .your sleep walking problems ( somnambulism) would account for the fact of being fatigue despite the long hrs of sleep. It becomes a vicious circle. the more you sleep; the more tired you are. Esp if the sleep is not quality sleep. You need a good night's sleep so you can function better the next day.
Poor sleep would account for your lethargy and fatigue. Or you might have some iron deficiency anemia.
You should experiment on the following steps:
Do not go to bed overly exhausted. Avoid limiting stimulating activities before bedtime. Avoid caffeine such as soda; alcohol and coffee whose caffeine will make you hyper. Thus unable to sleep.
Avoid stress and anxiety. Try to maintain a regular bedtime routine. Use an alarm clock either with music or alarm to wake up to initially. . Once this habit is formed or established; you won't be needing that alarm clock anymore. to wake up in the morning.
I strongly suspect that your problem stems from the fact that you sleep-walk.

This could be a lot of things. You could be getting too much sleep which will ironically make you feel the way you are feeling.
If you aren't depressed, you may be suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Really try to motivate yourself. Once you get on a good schedule, wake up early and go to bed at a reasonable hour you will probably feel better. You just really need to make yourself wake up to get started.

You need to get some tests done. You might have low iron.
Nobody wants to sleep all the time for no reason. Try to eat better, stay away from junkfood an sugar, and see a doc.
Good luck :)

I am the same way. I wouldn't give up exercising. Maybe you need to be handcuffed to the bed or something.

START TAKING YOUR NECESSARY VITAMINS, AS WELL AS EATING RIGHT, AND "LETHARGIC" IS NOT THE WORD. YOU LACK SELF-DISCIPLINE. OTHERWISE, THIS WILL RESULT IN ALLOWING YOURSELF TO BE TREMENDOUSLY LAZY.
