I've been told by my consultant that I need an operation on my ankle. Which I pleased about as it has caused me many years of misery. However, I've now received a letter from the NHS telling me to appear the the hospital to assess my need for the operation. I'm concerned. Is this how they've improved the waiting lists by telling people they can't have the operations they need? Or am I being overly suspicious?

My legs inadvertantly shake and twitch almost all night long. It makes for a miserable night for me and my wife. Any ideas what it could be?

I got this really painful heart pain earlier today. It was painful on the left part of my back and my left arm. I have no idea what it was though, but this is the second time its happened, the other happened a month ago. I dunno if it's relevant but I'm 19. Any ideas what it is?

I am asking this question on behalf of my friend, who needs to have both of her hips replaced. Her doctor recommends that she do both at the same time, but she is reluctant and would like to hear from people who have had double hip replacement surgery. Are you sorry you did it? If you could do it all over again, would you do it that way being armed with the aftersight you have today.? Anyone who hasn't had the operation but who may have to face it in the foreseeable future can also chime in here with his or her thoughts. Thank you.

They are those little growths that come up on your skin as you age and they are both an eyesore and a nusance. I know that a dermatologist can burn them off, but I was wondering if anyone knew some sort of home remedy for getting rid of them and keeping them gone.

It has been several years since this sleep medication has been on the market as a prescription drug and I know that after a certain length of time, a drug is able to be produced by other pharmaceutical companies. Just wondering if anyone knows when this is scheduled to occur.

I take care of these old people. They crap themselves every day. It would be great to just strap them to the toilet while I sleep. I can't find anything except like tape or rope, but they keep flopping onto the floor.

I don't break out anywhere else, just here.. I'd like to know why though.. maybe from toilet seats, like the bacteria on there, or what??

I overheard someone telling another person that they were tired. The other person told that person that they weren't getting enough sodium. What did the second person mean when they told the first person they weren't getting enough sodium?

Ok, so this whole Ernesto thing (I live in Florida) is stressing me out. My apartment is a piece of **** and I'm worried about flooding, etc. So I took my contacts out just in case I started to cry (I'm a big baby, sue me) so I took them out, put them in the case, and I was an idiot and left them in there without solution, but only for about a half hour at the latest. They shriveled up, but I rubbed them in my hand with some solution for a good 5 mins straight with each, and they look normal now. Are they still okay to wear or should I go to my optomitrist and get my new pair early ( They are coming Saturday anyway)....or just hold out?
