Ok, so this whole Ernesto thing (I live in Florida) is stressing me out. My apartment is a piece of **** and I'm worried about flooding, etc. So I took my contacts out just in case I started to cry (I'm a big baby, sue me) so I took them out, put them in the case, and I was an idiot and left them in there without solution, but only for about a half hour at the latest. They shriveled up, but I rubbed them in my hand with some solution for a good 5 mins straight with each, and they look normal now. Are they still okay to wear or should I go to my optomitrist and get my new pair early ( They are coming Saturday anyway)....or just hold out?

They didn't shrivel up completely, the edges were just wavy, it was dry and they looked pretty small...maybe half the size.

I know its just rain and wind, but we went through the storage back there and several things were damaged because my patio leaks. It seriously made me cry. And now it'll probably come up to our glass door and flood...so I was also filling sand bags and didn't want my eyes to get irratated.

been there, done that......I just rehydrate them overnight and they were cool in the morning. If your contacts are due on Saturday, anyways, you do have the option to put in a new pair and skip the prunes......I didn't and all was totally cool...but I am also very cheap and get the most out of my wear.

You should be fine to wear the current contacts. I have left my contacts out without solution for several hours and after resoaking them with solution was just fine. I would recommend letting the contacts soak in solution for about an hour so, and then putting them back in your eye. If the contacts make your eye uncomfortable for longer than a few minutes, I would disregard the above and throw them away.

They are still OK. My wife has left her all night, dried out.

PS, YES, the storm that YOU AND I WERE WORRIED ABOUT is nothing more than a bit of rain and some wind.

I am in West Palm Beach.

They should be fine. If you're worried, let them soak for a little bit before putting them in.
