I got this really painful heart pain earlier today. It was painful on the left part of my back and my left arm. I have no idea what it was though, but this is the second time its happened, the other happened a month ago. I dunno if it's relevant but I'm 19. Any ideas what it is?

You should see a doctor soon. They will probably do some tests such as EKG, labwork including a basic metabolic panel, cardiac enzymes, and a complete blood count. They will ask you if you're an athlete, if you have a family history of heart problems (heart attacks, coronary artery disease, etc.) If you are an athlete, I think you should avoid any activities until the doctor has cleared you and drink some Gatoraid... your Potassium level may be dangerously low. This is usually the cause of healthy young people having heart attacks and exercise will cause you to deplete what little you have if your are already low. Please take this seriously and see a doctor today. It may be something simple, but you don't need to waste any more time. One more thing, take an aspirin a day. It may save your life.

GO SEE A DOC MAN IT MIGHT NOT BE SERIOUSE THEN IT COULD BE ALSO IM NOT SAYING YOU DO THIS BUT THERE IS A SUCH THING AS A DRUG INDUCED HEART ATTACK ALSO IF IT IS ACTUALLY YOUR HEART CAUSING THE PAIN YOU HAVE SOME ISCHEMIA GOING ON THAT MEANS LACK OF O2 TO A CERTAIN PART OF YOUR HEART WHICH COULD BE A BIG PROBLEM JUST BECAUSE YOUR 19 DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANT HAVE HEART PROBLEMS

Call your doctor ASAP! Yes, you can have a heart attack at 19. Do not ignor this - better safe than sorry.

See a doc. NOW. Could be anything or nothing. But ER will triage you in ten seconds and get you in. Could even be a punctured lung.
