My husband got bit by a spider about an hour ago. As he went to put on his shoe he felt a sting & then he said he felt something move inside his shoe.. he freaked out & took it off, & when he did he seen the spider.. He shook it out without thinking, & smashed it to hell..lol.. but brown recluses are VERY bad in my house.. in fact, the only kind I've ever seen in here, well with the exception once of a wolf spider.. He went ahead & went to work, but I'm worried.. will the symptoms show up later? Will they not if it wasn't a brown recluse? I seen some pretty nasty pics of bites online.. & we don't have insurance.. that's why he doesn't want to go until it's serious, but how will we know & when?

About a day ago after being accidently hit on my check/ear(not hard) I have a constant noise that sounds like a refrigerator turned on in my ear,or the sound you get in your ears after leaving a concert,or if you turn your head fast, and the air gets into your ears. When I hear normal sounds now they seem thicker, annoying, but if I put a cotton in my ear it hepls, but the sound of a turned on refrigerator remains. The strange thing is If I am in the car with the radio on I hear the music normal, but if I get out of the car I can hear the vibration of my feet touching the ground, and the sound of a refrigerator turned on in my ear returns. Will it go away? Can I put some type of drops in my ear to help?Thank you.

Typically, to clean my ears, aside from using a Q-tip, which I understand to be dangerous, I use hydrogen peroxide. I read that carbamide peroxide should be used: What's that? The same answer that mentioned carbamide peroxide also mentioned alcohol. I've often wanted to use alcohol for my ear. Has anyone ever used isopropol alcohol in their ear? Does it help, or is it dangerous?

Here's a first for me: I have a pimple IN my ear canal.

I have this bite on my hand, had it since yesterday. Looks really swollen and red and it's a lil painful. Itches a lot. Hoping it's a mosquito bite, not spider. How can I tell? What are the signs of a spider bite?

My son is camping with my Grandmother about 4 hours away from where I am. Last night, something bit him on his arm and it's since then swelled up to about a 3 inch radius. This morning, he felt nauseus and my Granmother just called telling me he's feverish and feeling really ill, so she's packing up and bringing him back to her house, which is another three hours from where I am. She plan on bringing him to the doctor or the emergency room as soon as she gets there, depending on if he's the same or worse. My question is, does anyone know what could have bit him for him to have this reaction? They were camping at a campground, digging in the sand and swimming in the ocean in lower Connecticut.

i got a really bad sunburn on my legs, back, chest and stomach about five days ago. i put aloe vera on it and most of it has healed, but i noticed some minor blistering/peeling on my stomach and chest (close to where my bathing suit lined my skin) and i popped/pealed the majority of the dead skin off, even though i know that was a bad idea. i put aloe vera on it immediately after and it burned like crazy, so i washed it off with cold water. i just put neosporin on it because i'm scared i'll get an infection. it still stings and it's pretty red, though there's no puss (yet). i'm hoping that the neosporin will soothe it and help it heal quicker, but i don't think it's necessary at this point to see a doctor....or is it? i'm also scared that it will scar. this has happened to me once before, and it never scarred or got infected. but it didn't hurt this bad. what should i do?

Okay so my friend burnt the side of my cheek with her crimper on monday night! The next day when i went to go shower i noticed it and when i went to touch it there was like a thin layer of brownish green gooey stuff. Well it stuck to my finger and pulled of as soon as i touched it and the burn started bleeding! It scabs up but falls off all the time on its own and starts bleeding again. The green goo only happened once more like twenty minutes after the first time but i wanted to know if this is normal??

Well I was dancing on saturday outside and got a really bad sun burn. On the way home i was combing out my hair (it had lots of gel and hairspray in it) and the comb rubbed on my ear. I felt alot of pain but i though it was just becaused it was burned. i put my hand on my ear and it was wet. i looked and i had comb the skin off of my blister. i put a band aid on it as soon as i got home. i had a shower the next day so i get the band aid off and my ear was bleeding. shoudl I go to a doctor for this? or should i just let it e. i put another band aid on it and it is stuck so i need to wet it so i can get it off. And you can see where the skin is missing. like my ear is 2 different colors.

just wondering what my fellow medics and firefighters around the country and the world see. what are the worst calls that you have run, the ones that left a permanent imprint on you and how you do the job.
personally one of my worst calls was to a child locked in the car with the windows rolled up. it was well into the 90's outside, well the inside of a car with black leather interior got much, much hotter, in fact so hot that the 3 year old twin boys died before anyone even noticed that they were in the car. this occured in a shopping place parking lot, the mother apparently did not want to wake the sleeping boys when she and her older daughter went to the grocery store and the than popped by the toy store. from what witnesses say the car had been in the parking lot for almost an hour when we came and the mother didnt come around for another 1/2 hour.
it was a particularly bad call for me because my son was 3 at that time and these little boys reminded me so much of my own kid.

Ok, well a few summers ago I went on vacation. I was having a blast until we went to a lake. It was going MAD with mosquitos. Which was a real problem for me. Anyway on my left leg I got over 50 bites and my leg looked like it had polkadots. My grandparents said they would go away before I got back to my parents back where I live. They didnt. They got WORSE! I kept scratching and they turned into bruise type scars. When I went home they faded a little. Then other things happened. Like, a girl at school WAS bullying me and kept kicking me in the leg, I would rub my leg REALLY hard when I got nervous and it would burn and bleed, things like that. I went to my doctor when my parents found out because they though it was serious and they didnt do ANYTHING! I have summer camp on Monday and I cant go like this. We go swimming everyday and my leg looks horrible. So bad I havent been able to go out in public wearing shorts or things like that.I havent worn shorts in public for 3 years! What now?
