yestarday i was running around and slipped on some ice and fell on my back
an know i have this big scratch on my back and it is really swelled up, and if i move normally it hurts like bad.
the location of the hurt is likemaybe 3or4inchs above weremy jeans sit um and close to me backbone

did i just like hurt myself or do i need to go to the doc?

lately I have had an awful pain in my left knee. its hard to describe..it came out of nowwhere, i had no injuries or anything, and Im only young..
it hurts when i walk or bend my knee its on the left side of the knee cap,towards the bottom of it..its like a stabbing sensation. Im going to the doctors after christmas, I would go to the hospital now but Im pregnant and can not get xrays done, and thats what they would need to do.
any ideas as to what this is?

My throat's been sore all day from sneezing, so I might have a cold. I thought that drinking a carbonated drink would help my throat, but it just makes my throat hurt more. Is there anything else that could help my throat feel better other than medicine?

I know there are people that have gone through way worse than what i'm going through, i understand that but i'm in need of help.

A month and a half ago i was in a terrible car accident, totally my fault, lost control and hit a tree the car was literally smashed in half, the drivers seat was pushed over on to where the center console was, the seat didn't come off, that's how far it got crushed, center console broke... etc etc

enough about my car, okay, **** where do i start? i can go on for days describing the devastation anyways, my pelvis was broken in 4 places, i had 2 big bumps on the head (size of 2 fingers put together) i had to have catheter in for 3 weeks because of urethra damage, now that catheter is out, i'm developing stricture. i can't sleep for more than 4 hours/day, i don't know if i'm bored, i don't know if i'm hungry, sleepy... etc etc i don't know i can't find peace in myself... any suggestion?

ok,so I'm about 2months pregnant and have been throwing up.And the last time I did,afterwards it felt as if there was something stuck in my throat.And no matter how much I drink,the feeling won't go away.It hurts to swallow,and I can't seem to cough it up.My friend said that I might have swollen tonsils.Can anybody help me?

yesterday i was playing basketball and i fell on my foot the wrong way. I was able to get up and continue to run around and play. Today when i woke up it was kind of hard to walk on but then it got better. BNow i can walk on it fine and even run. Just want to know what you think

The past several nights I've felt really dry. Almost like that feeling you get when you have a fever, but I don't have one. Could it be I'm dehydrated?? I don't drink as much water as I used to and I drink a lot of caffeine (coffee & tea) ...if I go drink a lot of water now I'll be up all night having to take a leak lol

I've asked before, I'm asking again:

I'm looking for information on motorcycle helmets and injuries. Specifically I need to find cases where someone on a motorcycle was:

a)wearing a helmet.

b)involved in an accident.

c)suffered injuries that would not have occurred if they had been wearing a helmet, or had injuries that were worsened because of the helmet.

I don't need second hand hearsay. I don't need to know about this thing that happened to this one guy you know. I facts that can be verified.

Also - if any medical professionals would we willing to correspond with me regarding this subject I'd appreciate it.

It's not anything like an excruciating pain, more like a restriction to my lungs, so when i take a deep breath or even an average-sized one I feel like there are tiny daggers stabbing the bottom right part of my lungs. I'm not even sure if IT is my lungs, just that part of my chest.
And it's not just when I breathe, either, when I cough or sneeze or bend down or something.
It's been like this for three days now, and I don't think I've done anything that could have damaged my ribs.
What should I do?

Knee Arthroscopy (after surgery) question?
okay uh I had knee arthroscopy may 1st it went well. But when I stand on it long or walk a longing distance the..... I guess the muscles gets all tensed up and my knee throbs, it'll disappear if I rest it for a while. But I am wondering when it will if it will ever fully heal and if so how long? I'm guessing long. But about how long how many months or a year?

Umm hard for me to explain this, not very good at explaining. Best to start from the beginning, well i started getting sharp painful stings in my knee, when ever I walked it had occasionally and it was so painful that I wanted to cry, but it didn’t ever last that long, about a minute to two at the most. Then when I got it examined I found out that my meniscus was causing the problem, instead on them being both the shape of C's one was a D so what they did was go in and shave the D down to make it a C. So can anyone help me out here? I'd really appreciate it. I hope that explanation is alright.

Well Last Night me and my friend were sitting on my bed and she had scissors, i was holding a pooh bear stuffed animal and she pretended like she was going to cut it. well... she missed and got my finger instead... she got it pretty hard too. it clamped down then sliced, it went down really deep too about a 1-2cm. the split secound the scissors came out of my finger blood was everywhere. im not even kidding, my whole hand was bloody, i was just like woah... the cut is about 2cm long but pretty deep. it bled hard nonstop for about 5min. then lightly for about 5more. i guarentee i had about a cup of blood gone just from that cut. its small but it looks bad because of how deep it went in... so... i might have pics... what do you think?

I have about five VERY large warts on my hand, and I've had countless freezing treatments for all of them. I've tried home remedies, acids, everything. So my doctor thinks that the only thing left to do is get it surgically removed (on New Year's Eve!)

I've never had anything like this done before. So I have a few questions, actually.

1.) Does Novacaine hurt? My mom told me that it only does for about 10 seconds, but that it's almost as painful as the surgery itself. Other people have told me that it doesn't hurt at all, just the needle going in.

2.) Am I going to be 'absolutely miserable' after the novacaine wears off? My doctor told me I would be.

I reallyyy appreciate it. I'm pretty scared, especially about the novacaine. Thanks!

Im 30wks pregnant at the moment, and sleeping at night hurts 4 me because i like 2 tos and turn a lot. But moving from side 2 side is so painfull that i wake up everytime i need 2 move. It is more my lower spine that aces the most. But then again everything blends in 2 one huge pain. So if u have any ideas on moving around and 4 it to b less pain full please let me know

I have a pencil eraser-sized blood blister on the tip of my middle finger that extends to beneath the nail. I read somewhere that you can use epsom salts to extract the blood safely, or a sterilized needle. I don't have a needle phobia or anything. Which method do you think is best to take care of it? Is one safer than the other?

i was playing basketball and i fell backwards, and tried to catch myself with my hands. Right afterwards, my wrist started to hurt. My hand turned purple. It swelled up and a little bruised. its been four days and my hand still is killing me even when im just sitting here. But i dont know how long it will take, and if its gonna take more then two weeks to heal if its broken, i dont want to get a cast, cause ill miss to much basketball. HELP!
