Hi There,
This might not be what you want to hear but by forcing yourself to stay awake you will actually get less done, because as you are tired you will get stressed easier, your brain wont work as efficiently as if you were rested and you will start to dwell on what you are not getting done, causing more stress. So long story short, you will actually accomplish more if you are rested then if you are tired.

I use a horrible, deadly method when I need to stay awake for long periods of time, which often happens in my field (law). You go to the Feed Store, and get a bottle of injectible Epinephrine. It is for allergic reactions, but is chemically identical to Adrenalin. You can also get the syringes. I just use a TINY amt. You can add, but you can't take away. The needle goes into the thigh a quarter of an inch, and then you inject the medicine. If you use too much you will kill yourself. It's a horrible risk to take for money, and it should make you think about the thing you feel you must stay awake to do. Is it worth a heart attack? However, people do this, because it does not show up on a drug test.

You might need to up the ante with the caffeine. Try Jolt or one of those energy drinks like Monster or Red Bull. I don't recommend doing that for long as it is hard on your body. It's just a short term solution to a common problem. Eating a little something actually wakes you up a bit as well, like say a ham and swiss on rye with a Mountain Dew or something. That worked for me when I occasionally worked double shifts as a nurse.

In the long term, sleep hygeine is important. Try to go to bed at the same time each night if you can, and arise at the same time each morning. Figure out how many hours of sleep you need every night to function well during the day and try to make sure you get it. If you do that you may find that a cup or two of coffee is all you need to pull an occasional all-nighter.

G@@D LUCK! :_)

If you want to remain healthy and of a good sound mind, get plenty of regularly scheduled sleep. This way you will accomplish much more than trying to do things when you are sleep deprived. Sleep Deprivation can cause all kinds of behavior and health problems. Listen to your body. Begin to plan things and make schedules so you can get things done on time!

My advice to you is to get your sleep because the more you postpone it, the more likley you will have difficulty performing your tasks.

Sure, they now have drugs on the market to keep people awake, and truckers are known to use them...but they risk having a serious accident, so it's not worth the risk.

Coffee always did it for me when I wokred late shifts.

Well. It's unhealthy to fight off sleep. You probably know that. There's a Global Nutritiona Center (GNC) product called Hydroxycut. It's loaded with green tea. You might try that.

Please get some sleep first. You can always get up earlier in the a.m. and continue getting stuff done. However, if it cannot wait, take two multi vitamins with some fruit juice. I used to work 3rd shift years ago and vitamins helped me keep going.
