Skin Conditions - February 2007

I believe this problem associates with allergies or other health issues.
I would like to know what makes this discomfort on my lips.
My lips are not rough. Smooth looking, but I feel dry.

I'm worried about my husband. He's been sick for the last few days (we thinks its a cold, or bronchitis, but he hasn't been to the doctor) Anyways, he started taking Zithromax (a prescription of mine) yesterday. Today, we noticed he started getting these tiny red dots on his chest. They are smooth, and not itchy. They look like they are coming from under his skin, if you can picture it... Now they seem to be spreading all over his body. Though they are really tiny. There are some on his feet, legs, arms, chest. None on his face and neck, though. Does anyone have any idea what this may be. He cannot get to a doctor before Tuesday. At first I thought it may be a side effect of Zithromax, but I read the label, and it didnt list rash as a possible side effect. If anyone has any ideas, or this has happened to them, I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

Topicals have never worked, Lamisil pills worked but the doc said no more because it could cause liver problems.
Any over the counter stuff?

I recently discovered this bump on my neck (about 2 days ago). It's right below my jaw bone, and it hurts if anything touches it. However, I have no other symptoms. It's the same color as my skin, and about an inch long, slanted diagonally. I don't think it's a cyst, because I've had those before and this doesn't feel the same. It feels sort of solid. I was wondering if anyone knew what it could possibly be? It really hurts and it's worrying me.

Ever since I hit puberty I've had stubborn acne, all over my face. Not to mention my shoulders, back, I've even had pimples on my butt!

I've read a lot of reviews on the high rated, popular acne products, and found that most users don't reccomend using them on dry or sensitive skin. I have very fair, very sensitive, very dry skin, so I don't want to spend my money on expensive products that aren't good for this.

My acne is really horrible, and has had a major impact on my self esteem. I would sell my soul to the devil to be pretty again. ;( So PLEASE help me. Tell me something that actually works. (Also, something to help with scars would be nice)

I'd really like to hear from people who have had really horrible acne and have found something that works. I can't afford to see a dermatologist, nor can I afford really expensive products.

Please help a poor girl fit in in a world of beautiful people with beautiful skin.

I called his doctor and she said the hands and feet are probably hand foot and mouth disease, and the legs is probably exzema...... The rash thats on his hands and feet look exactly the same as what is on his legs, so i think she is wrong..... they look like blisters almost, and cover most of the skin in the area thats infected. I thought maybee chicken pox but from what ive read it starts in the trunk area and spreads from there. His started on his hands and knees. It looks awful but he seems to be ok. Hes not overly fussy or running a fever and he dosnt seem to be trying to scratch it except by occasionally rubbing his knees on the carpet when hes crawling. Does anyone know anything about hand foot mouth disease?????

for past 4 weeks I have been suffering with itchy skin. Doctor priscribed Derbac M thinking it's scabies. Then the pharmacies recommended piriton , calamine lotion and then again cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg tablets. The worst is over. But still I feel itchy and the the skin now getting damage by scratching. I feel very stressful and I am unable to cope anymore. I had smooth nice skin. I want to get that back. Can anyone help?

I have kind of red blotchy skin. Some of which is old acne scars although not the deep pock type ones, just red spots where acne had once been. What is the best way to even my skin tone and get rid of some of these scars? Which is better microdermabrasion or an acid peel? or something different?

The doctors are useless so don't suggest that. Anything OTC I can use to avoid/prevent breakouts? (currently the only soap I can use that doesn't turn my face red and dry is a yellow bar soap called Purpose)

I have sensitive skin and i've never washed my face with hand soap in years, i've been using facial cleansers and washes however I also suffer from bad acne. Over the last month i've been prescribed to use Accutane which now when i wash my face it completley dries it out. I tried many types of facial cleansers but can't seem to find something light and sensitive, and i'm not able to see the dermotologist until next month. Any suggestions on a type or brand of facial cleanser that may be lighter and less harsh on my skin. Thanks!
