I called his doctor and she said the hands and feet are probably hand foot and mouth disease, and the legs is probably exzema...... The rash thats on his hands and feet look exactly the same as what is on his legs, so i think she is wrong..... they look like blisters almost, and cover most of the skin in the area thats infected. I thought maybee chicken pox but from what ive read it starts in the trunk area and spreads from there. His started on his hands and knees. It looks awful but he seems to be ok. Hes not overly fussy or running a fever and he dosnt seem to be trying to scratch it except by occasionally rubbing his knees on the carpet when hes crawling. Does anyone know anything about hand foot mouth disease?????

I don't know anything about hand foot disease but my son had eczema when he was little and that is what it sounds like. He had it severely from head to toe. He eventually grew out of it. Eczema can look like little blisters and they itch it seems until they break. Cotton clothing was number one. My son had to have cortizone shots from time to time if the topical meds didn't work. I would take him to an allergist or dermatologist because eczema can make them miserable. Allergic reactions will flare up eczema.

My nephew has exzema and it can blister and also itches. Sometimes it will look like he's has burns. You can check out some research about hand foot mouth disease and excema on the following website. www.webmd.com

Good Luck, poor guy.

Search it on yahoo. So, when is your son's doc appointment? Hopefully soon since you talked to the doctor, I would think she would want to see him to verify what it is & help it to go away.
