My brother was hospitalized in intensive care yesterday because apparently he overdosed and passed out. While passed out he vomited and all the vomit went back into his lungs. He is now being held in an unconscious state for now and my family and I are still waiting to hear from doctors....can anyone tell me the risks and effects of something like this happening? Thank you.

I have been on Yaz for the last eight days, but unfortunately I have had my period for the last eight days. Normally, I have it for 6-7 days. However, it is currently showing no signs of slowing down. Did anyone else have this? If so, how long is this to be expected? How long is too long? It is pretty frustrating when you take it to help that, and it makes things worse. Other than that, the only other bad side effect I have had is my skin has gotten worse.

I would like to hear from anyone who has personal experience with Xopenex inhalers - do you find there are fewer side-effects than with albuterol/salbutamol (Ventolin, etc.)? Does anyone know if/when the inhaler will arrive in the UK?

This has happened periodically since childhood, but has been happening too much for comfort the past three months. It's only when I'm relaxing, or going to bed.

The only way to describe it is that it feels like I'm not getting the oxygen I need out of the air I'm breating during these "episodes". Once it starts I make an effort to take full, even breaths, but I still feel like I'm not getting much.
Feels like I'm hyperventilating, but with slow breaths instead of fast shallow ones.
Doesn't happen during stress, and I haven't been stressed much at all recently (for a change, lol).

Any ideas on what could be causing this? I'm losing rest over it and it's quite uncomfortable.

I've had asthma symptoms my whole life, but they haven't gotten really bad until the last year. I recently began to write down my symptoms. Wheezing and coughing and excessive mucus after being outside, or when I cook. No allergies to animals. Only after being outside for a few hours. My son uses Albuterol with a nebulizer for lung issues (not asthma), so I began to use some of his medicine when I had an attack.

No health insurance ... decided to go to a doctor and pay cash.
I tell him all my sypmtoms and he tells me he will give me antibiotics, it can't possibly be astham, because i would have been diagnosed as a child, or would have had trouble in P.E. in school. I insist that these symptoms are like my Grandmother had (she had asthma). He says, it could be a lung infection. I said, for this long? He said, yes, that happens, and it could also be tuberculosis. He takes an X-ray and a Pulminary Function test. Everything was normal. I had to insist for a puffer. What do you think?

good friend came over for the night.....he brought some bud and i was lookin forward to it since i got caught i hadnt smoked in a while. But i had a very high tolerance before hand so i didnt expect to end up like this. He told me it was decent but nothing great..smelled fine and looked pretty nice still. When we started smoking it...it had a very short bland almost nothing taste, burned my throat after awhile (which never happens for me) , and a little later it felt like all the blood was rushing to my head and wanted to explode, i was very paranoid and anxious after. heartbeat wasnt too terribly fast but beating much harder. i thought i had hullicinated a tad when i saw my clock fly at me for a sec lol...but it was a very very heady high.

i looked at it after and found small crystalls and even some traces of like off white specs....seems slighty compressed but breaks apart fine i guess. I dont know but i think it was laced with either hydrocodone, coke, embalming fluid or somethin

I had a CT done because of chest pain i was experiencing (ended up being a pulled chest muscle)...but they found a 4mm nodule on my lung. My primary care doctor said don't worry about it and to wait 3 months and have a follow up CT scan done. I insisted on seeing a pulmonary specialist. I haven't seen him yet, but do you think I should insist on a biopsy? I don't like the wait and see approach. My mother in law is dying from lung cancer. she is a smoker and I am not, but still scared.
