The only magical way is called commitment.

The rest can only support you.. like the links below this.
You can rely on tips, but do NOT rely on other products that claim can help quit smoking, as some of them use other chemical contents that is addictive.. that is, from smoking addict to this chemical content addict.

In addition, let yourself be surrounded with people who support you to quit smoking. This is very important.

By the way, I only support you. Go, wolf!

Kind regard,
Ron

I just quit smoking after a 43 year addiction. I stopped with the help of a pill called CHANTIX...I tried everything on the market. But, this pill leaves you calmer less stressed. Why? It works with the receptors in your brain that tell you you need nicotine. It intercepts that calling. It worked for me why not give it a try. I have terminal lung disease...don't wait too long to quit smoking. Good Luck. Email me if you need more encouragement.

I am a smoker but don't feel ready to give up yet, so I really admire your decision. I work P/T for the NHS and we are no longer able to smoke on the property. I wear NiQuitine patches at work and they stop the cravings for the 6 hours I am there. I know they are expensive, but not as expensive fags. You still need some will-power but these may help you. Good Luck..x

There is a relatively new medication out called Chantix that works really well for quitting smoking. Worked for me and a lot of other people I know who have tried it.

There is no magic bullet. The important thing is that you have to really WANT to quit. Make sure you're not quitting for someone else, or because you feel you "have to".

I used nicorette. The first few days were hard, but after that, it got easier. I feel much better now: I sleep better, and have much more energy.

Hoo boy, the wording of your question has set you up for a ton of wiseacre answers.

I smoked for over 25 years and pretty much quit with little fanfare. For me it was a matter of reason. See if this makes sense: First start reminding yourself that your hair, your clothes, your car, your house, pretty much everything you own or occupy reeks of cigarette smoke. Remind yourself that your mouth pretty much tastes like an ashtray all the time. Think way down the road, do you want grandchildren? Do you want to know them? Keep smoking and you may not.

Then, notice when you most want a cigarette, for me it was always AFTER. After eating, after drinking, after pretty much anything. So the first thing I did was to eliminate any smoking that wasn't AFTER something. Then, try to eliminate any that weren't one of the biggies like after eating. Pretty soon I was only smoking after lunch and dinner and perhaps after the news and before bed. By then I had it down to only three or four a day and maintained that for several weeks. Then I eliminated the one after lunch with it firmly in mind that there would be one for me after dinner. I could look forward to that one cigarette each day after dinner, it was my reward for having done so well.

Not too surprisingly after a week or so of only smoking one or two cigarettes a day I put them down completely. Giving up one cig was pretty easy. Many will say that you cannot taper off as I did, but I have told this to several friends who have all had success. I hope it works for you.

I don't believe in any magical way. You just need to stop smoking one day.

Chantix, it's a pill that is taken daily until you have completely stopped . It is the only thing I have found to work. Please give it a try, I just can't stop telling people about this. Go to chantix.com
