Hi,
The only advice I have ever received from anyone, doctors nurses etc was give up caffeine as its a stimulant and WHENEVER you feel pain in your chest get to a hospital or doctor immediately.
it could just be muscular, i suffer from muscle cramps in my back caused by an old war wound (bar diving i think it was...) which can cause my chest to feel tight and painful and restrict breathing until it eases... but on the other hand
I also have a condition knows as SVT, or (if I can spell it right, apologies if not) Super-Ventricular Tachycardia.... which for want of a better explanation is akin to heart palpitations (apologies to any medicos out there if its not technically correct but that's the best way i can think of too describe it).
This causes some pain and discomfort and really can knock you for six when you have an episode.
So a chest pain can be nothing or it can be serious -- my advice get ot the doctors or your nearest hospital now... if you go a to hospital complaninng of chest pains you'll pretty much get seen to immediately, so go, even if your in work, i know I've had to do it!

Chest pain is not something to fool around with. It could have a lot of causes - some benign (not a problem) to disatrous consequences if you ignore it. Go to your doctor. Really you should go to urgent care or the emergency room since you let it sit so long, but at least call your doctor's office in the morning. He will know your history well enough to determine if this is something big or not.

I agree that your doctor should be the one answering this.
Must say I've had chest pains for various reasons - like lying funny in bed, or running across town when extremely unfit and not warming up beforehand!
Or have you had a cold recently? sometimes it's just the result of sneezing or blowing too hard.
Hope your doc puts your mind at rest anyway
oh and don't let them fob you off - if you're not happy with the diagnosis, insist on an x ray!!!

Hello. If there is no simple explanation of what it might be,or any obvious sign of an injury, and you cannot explain this pain away, you must seek a GP appointment urgently. All unexplained pain indicate something is wrong and you need to go for a consultation today to get a proper diagnosis.
All the best,
Alan L.

It could be something minor like a pulled muscle in your chest or something more serious like pleurisy wherere theres a problem with the pleural fluid that lubricates the lung. Whatever it is your best to go and see a doctor straight away even if just for peace of mind :)

You are describing pleuritic chest pain, this is a symptom, not a diagnosis. For this you need to see your GP. It can be anything from a viral illness, to chemical irritation, to an embolism.

it could be anything from pulled or riped muscle tissue if the pain is on the surface. if it feels like its coming from inside it could be to do with lungs, in any case seek medical advice
ps. could even be anxiety

See a doctor. You may have pneumothorax - a leakage in your right lung.
