Okay, here's the scenario.
Everyday at school my friend *kara* doesn't eat. We ask her why not and she's says "I'm just not hungry during the day. I eat heaps when i get home after school and for dinner."
But... me and my friends don't know if she is telling the truth... this has been going on since the start of the year... and if you compare her to the start of the year, she has lost weight. She incessantly talks about her "fat" legs, which are really quite too skinny.
I think she is anorexic cause she thinks she's fat, and we question her on it but she says it's just the clothes she wears that make her look skinnier.
I'm really worried and i don't know what to do. She would hate me if i went to her parents and she doesn't even have a good relationship with them to begin with. I don't know a way which would help without ruining our friendship...
Please... suggestions??
Thanks

About two months ago I went into the hospital for a week for similar symptoms. The doctors said it was not strep (Because the sickness did not respond to antibiotics) and it wasn't mono. But it was a Mono like virus. Well, I'm having symptoms again, and dread going to the doctor because they might admit me to the hospital again and put me on IV's. o_O; Anyone have any clues as to what this could be? Maybe a way to get better?

- I've heard of sweating out a sickness, but does that really work?

Meralgia Paresthetica is entrapment (compressing) of a nerve that gives sensation to the thigh. My chiropractor diagnosed me due to symptoms of burning/numbness on the top outer portion of one thigh (MP is generally one-sided.) I also looked MP up online & it's exactly me!

I've had MP for 4-5 years, but it's been on-and-off, and flare-ups were mild & rare. It got worse when I got a laptop and started using it w/ my legs crossed ("Indian style") & the laptop flat on my groin/abdomen. My research says hyper-extended hips & groin pressure can make it worse, so I did everything wrong! :( I also squatted too much recently while gardening, which caused more trouble.

Often, no cause for MP is found. In rare cases, there's serious disc problems of the lower spine, so I'm going to have that checked by an M.D., tho I'm sure I'd have lots of back pain in that case, & I don't. :)

I feel very isolated with this condition. :( I also hope it's not permanent! Anyone else have it? How are you?

A friend asked me to check with folks for her symptoms. She normally has very low blood pressure but when she got her treatment today it apparently dropped dangerously low, although the nurse wouldn't tell her how low. Has anyone else experienced a drop in blood pressure while receiving the Remicade? Also, each time she has gotten a treatment, it has gotten progressively more exhausting for her. She had her 4th treatment today. Her twin sister has been taking the treatments for several years and has not had these problems. Anyone else have unusual problems?

I have had "ruptured" disks for about 4 years now with pain off and on. I am having intense pain between my shoulder blades that is kind of a burning feeling. It also hurts to touch the areas that hurt. Anyone experienced that before? Please don't answer if you haven't. Thanks.

Because I when I was born I was fine and very alert and then after the vaccines I started to not have direct eye contact. I then got Bipolar(mislabeled as autistic), and diabetes. I started throwing temper tantrums even if I am now 16 years old. Do you think Vaccines are the reason theres more and more disorder problems.

Wouldn't you like to be free of the Common Cold, Pneumonia, allergies, strep throat and the flu? Why isn't a trust fund made to cure it for good? I haven't had chicken pox since my tweens(A very LONG time ago). I don't recall the last time I had a shot for it. Shouldn't colds be the same way?

...she needs diapers? (DEPENDS) She has Alzheimer's, but she is in total denial. My father is living, in mentally perfect condition, and taking good care of her. But I feel like someone needs to tell her before she ruins every piece of furniture left in their house! Not to mention the horrible odor she carries with her. I need to tell you when she was normal, she was very clean. Now, she showers once a week (not often enough), and wears the same clothes for a week. (Showers and changes on Sunday for church.) I'm disgusted, but I DO understand. I don't want to hurt her, but... Please no sarcasm. This is a serious issue, and I will just ignore sarcastic statements.

I can be going down the freeway at 65 MPH and I suddenly get this "surreal" feeling that I'm not moving at all. It literally feels like I'm sitting in a car with a movie screen in front of the windshield. The signs ahead get closer and go by, but I feel stationery. I wouldn't call it vertigo because there's no dizziness.

What is going on? Is there a medical or psychological term for this? Thank you.

I am taking lexapro and kava kava for anxiety and panic disorder, and I drink socially. There are liver problems in my family and all 3 of these are bad for my liver. Even if I never drink, I am still taking the meds, and I'm afraid of getting liver disease.
Is there any way to counteract this or help keep my liver healthy?

My mother just had an intracranial hemorrhage stroke last week, & her at-home situation is not the most conducive for her recovery. I currently work full time, but I don’t have enough time at my current employer to qualify for the Family Medical Leave Act (I’ve only been there for nine months). I need to have income to cover my minimal but still substantial bills. But I also would like to be able to care for my mother because I am completely positive that I can't trust my stepfather to make sure that my mom makes the lifestyle changes that are necessary. My mom is an alcoholic, and she also smokes cigarettes. She also occasionally takes Vicodin (not prescribed). Her husband is also a smoker & an alcoholic, which is why I do not believe that he will be capable of caring & supporting my mother. Does anyone have any experience with caring for a parent & receiving pay through the state? Where would I go to get forms, info or anything else useful? Thanks to anyone who answers?
