I'm in my last teen years and realize that two large bumps on both sides of my labium(?or the external vaginal wall) must be treated. I have been in fear of going to the doctors, and talking to anyone about it for the past several years. At first when these bumps appeared, it hurt, but now, it doesn't hurt at all. The bumps grew, and then just stopped in size and is just there. How do I get rid of my fear and finally admit it to the doctor that I have a problem? --sincerely,scared out of my mind

My brother-in-law was recently rushed to the hospital because he was terribly ill which turned out to be some sort of infection and low white blood cell count due to his chemotherapy treatment. He was admitted to the ICU and my sister was told he had a very slim chance of making it, the next day the doctor said 40% of patients in this situation don't make it. Then, 5 days later he was all of a sudden discharged (4 days before the original release date), he still was not eating anything (getting nutrients through IV), was not able to walk to even use the bathroom. He was on morphine as well. My sister went to pick him up and the doctors didn't meet with her and the nurses didn't give her any information, they only told her to go to his regular doctor in a week for a check up. He still had an IV in and they had to ask her to take it out. Dont they usually give you a list of things you need to do? How can they discharge someone who can't eat or walk to the bathroom?

Had the procedure on Wed. and my Dr. removed a polyp. She sent it to be biopsied... How long does that take and when will I know if it is cancerous? I have an appt. to see my Dr. Monday, but if it turns out to be cancer, would I know sooner than Monday? I wasn't real worried until today... But now I am getting more and more worried, especially since I've had some very severe epi-gastric attacks lately, and we're trying to figure out why I'm sick all the time. Anyone have experience with this??

How do you encourage someone who has not only just been diagnosed with aggressive cancer, but who has been told she can only hope to add a few years to her life... but not be completely cured of the cancer?

I plan to be there for her and encourage her as much as possible, but I just want to know what things either help you or helped you to keep going... what was something that helped you through the chemo and many doctor visits... ?

I know I am selfish in that I want her to be around as long as possible, as she is my friend.

My father has been diagnosed with this disorder, he has had Lung cancer, and 2 heart attacks, Is this possibliy due to the medications he was perscribed? I have only seen information on newborns, not adults over the age of 50. I would appreciate all the infor anyone can give, I don't want to loose my father due to ignorance. I'd greatly appreciate help finding the answers to help me understand what's going on with his health.

Something I have not heard alot about is the positive effect of cutting down on cigarettes.
I have cut down to just having a few cigarettes when I come home from work (around 9) and do not smoke during the weekdays.
I guess on weekends I would smoke more since I am home -gotta be honest with myself on that.
I guess my question is: Are there definite benefits to smoking only a few cigarettes a day as oppossed to being a reguar smoker.
Thanks

I have certain things that are really really worrying me. For some 2 month i have raised bump on my upper lip. It's painless, looks a bit like a pimple and it's not changing in size as far as i can notice. I can't squeeze it out or anything and it basically doesn't bother me except in a way that i'm worried what it is. It's rather small, and doctor had trouble noticing it when i pointed it. It's softish and coloured like the skin with a tint of red. So any ideas what could it be?
I stumbled here because for the last couple of days i have trouble swallowing as well, but it could be due to using Corsodyl as a mouthwash. Also I've noticed small change in bite but the my dentist said i just have a beginning state of periodontitis and that deep cleaning should sort it out (i'm booked for one next week).
As you can see i have a bit of symptoms for oc and i'm naturally worried. could these sympotms be interconnected?
