A biopsy of a growth taken behind the ear was taken on Monday. What is the earliest the results would be in by?
If it is malignant what does this mean the next steps would be?

I would think maybe a week or 10 days at the most...hard to say what the earliest would be. Treatment would depend upon the type of malignancy (squamous cell, melanoma, etc) and the size and staging of the cancer. Maybe chemo and/or radiation?? Not sure.Try not to worry...pray while you are waiting that "everything will be alright"...

here in the uk my sister had to wait three weeks for her biopsy results we thought it was going to be ok because it was taking so long unfortunatly it was cancer,in your case try not to worry yet anyway,but if it was malignant the next step would possibly surgery best of luck

results usually take about a week to get back. if your doctor took it out in the office, i'm sure he/she tried to take as much tissue as possible for clear margins. it is possible that they may need to take out more if they need to.
if they need to take out more tissue, they may take you to surgery so that they can do a skin graft. (where they take skin from another part of your body to replace the skin needed behind the ear) but that is only if your doctor needs to take more.
if it is malignant and spread, which is unlikely, then further steps like radiation or possibly chemo are necessary. but dont get to thinking about that. juat be glad you took care of it as soon as you did and hope for the best. good luck

It depends on the lab your physician sent the specimen to. If he sent it to the local hospital, you should have the result back in a day or 2. If he sent it to some far away, cheap lab, it probably will take up to 2 weeks.
I went to the doctor for a pregnancy test and it took 10 days to get the result back.

It depends on the country you are in. Here, in Romania it takes 10 days, maybe two weeks. I heard that in US it takes 3 or 4 days.
