I sure do. I lost my mom after a year she was diagnosed, it was just to advance and there was nothing anyone can do for her. However, the day she got diagnosed we went home, and as a family we all had this talk. She promised us that she would stay here for a year and that during this year, we was to go out and have fun.

Boy did we have fun, we went anywhere from jumping off a plane or even a bridge! It was just the best time ever and I will always remember that year.

Funny how things turns out the way it is, on the exactly date just a year later, my Mom passed away quietly with both my dad and I in the room with her. She was so peaceful and I can still remember what she said to me. She said, "John...I want you to take good care of yourself and your father, don't forget the dogs too alright? Don't cry for me...I'm going home and what is there to cry for? Going home is a good thing and we all have to go home someday, I know I will see you both soon."

Gosh I sure miss her, but of course, she is still living withing both me and my father's heart I know that for sure.

If anyone need to vent or just talk to about loosing someone, trust me I lost a lot of people (most of them didn't die of cancer) but I'm always here to listen or to chat, just email me at paraboy89@aol.com

Have a good night.

My father died of a brain tumor on Tuesday morning. I am still in shock. My aunt died of breast cancer 5 years ago. My father also had battled prostate cancer for 5 years before they found the brain tumor. Cancer is such a terrible disease that will affect every family in some fashion. I am sorry about your sister. I hope her children grow up to know what a wonderful person she was. God Bless.

My grandpa this past June. It started out as prostate cancer and spread to his bones. He suffered until his last breath. I sat with him at the hospital wishing there was something I could do to take him back to his childhood and erase all of his pain. My mother-in-law just passed two weeks ago today of Lou Gehrig's (which isn't cancer but still is terrible). Sorry for your loss and the poor children who have to live their lives without their mother. I hope you all can be strong through this terrible situation.

One of my best friends and favorite people, Hillary. We were in college together (late 1970's), and we were a couple for about a year, and years later we became very good friends again. You know how rare that is, to be good friends with your ex?

She was diagnosed August 1992, and she died April 1993. She was 33 years old. It still makes me sad. I was very angry about it for like ten years. Not angry at God, just angry. But as the old saying goes, "Time heals all wounds."

Ironically, I got cancer in 2005 (lymphoma), but I'm doing really well now!

I loved Bill with all my heart and soul. He was diagnosed with lung cancer and died in less than a year. I probably would have been happily married and we could have had a great life together.
I wanted us to be together forever, but he was 60 yrs old and I was 27. He was very good to me and looked out for me. I just could not commit to a relationship with him because of our age difference. My dad would have flipped out. I was crushed when he died and have never met another person as good as he was.

A great uncle on my father's side

Also - my uncle (mom's brother) died one year ago this month of a rare liver cancer. He worked on an oil rig off the coast of Africa for a long time, and the type of cancer he had is rare here, but not there...
