although there are lots of designated smoking areas in public places, they are always commonly found at the building exits, along places where non-smokers have to pass by in order to reach their designation...
i know it is the smokers right to smoke wherever they want as long as it is legal, but this action is back to my question.... do u guys care? as it is still affecting the majority of the non smokers....

lets make a example, since smokers enjoy their smoking but still giving out 2nd hand smoke to others, well the non smokers can take some portable bin and fill it up with garbage and start burning it, and let the thick black smoke affect the smokers.... an eye for an eye?

im not targetting all the smokers here, i know there are a lot of considerate smokers out there, but it is nearly impossible not to affect the people around.
i was a smoker few years back.....

Last year I went to sea World in San Antonio, Texas and there are designated smoking areas there but for some reason a bunch of non-smokers were hanging out in the smoking areas. So I have to ask you a question, if being around cigarette smoke pisses off non-smokers so bad, then why do y'all intentionally hang around in our smoking areas? Is it so that y'all can have something else to complain about? I smoke in what ever area is designated to smoke in and usually it is by store entrances. If you non-smokers don't like it then hold your breaths for a couple of seconds. It is funny how you non-smokers are whining about second hand smoke but yet I see a lot of you lighting up cigarettes when you are drinking.

I get upset at questions like this and here is why.
Alcohol is the #1 killer of people below age 30. DO THEY CARE. You can not even compare the two. Do you drive an auto. Talk on the phone or any other thing that distracts your driving. DO THEY CARE. Do you turn the lights off in an unused room, Use recycled paper and plastic, So drink a six pack pollute the environment. Use non replinishable products, Ignore those down on thier luck. I ask Is smoking the worst crime against humanity. Ask a family member of someone that just got killed by reckless driving!!

Most places now either restrict smoking or have smoking sections. Everyone has the right to smoke a cigarette where they want. If you don't like it, leave. I try not to smoke in public, but if I do I do it in a designated smoking area, so no, not all smokers are self-centered little pricks who don't give a damn about anyone else, so word your questions more carefully, and don't group all smokers as being the same, Little Mrs. (or Mr.) self-righteous.

I don't smoke a round people who don't smoke,in restaurants or anywhere I am not allowed-OUT OF CONSIDERATION!! But if I am at my home in my car I will smoke,if my guest don't like it they don't have to come to visit. People are more likely to die from obesity, drugs, air pollution, alcohol,or from an accident, then they are from 2nd hand smoke. If you are worried about getting cancer ,most people who have never smoked get it. Walking through 2nd hand smoke has never gave anyone cancer instantly.

The US documented recent studies has shown that the number of people who have quit smoking, has NOT decreased the incidences of lung cancer, it is still the same if not a bit more.......so you just go right ahead and eat that cheese burger that has mono glycerides, poly sorbate #5, red dye #7, etc. etc. etc., mechanically remove beef, chicken and pork, and all the MSG you want to......but I'd rather have a cigarette!!!!!.

What? Most smokers go outside (because there are hardly ANY places for them to smoke inside anymore). Most go outside at home, too.

Sounds to me you are mad at someone in particular. So go talk to them and don't lump all smokers into this imaginary group you're talking about.

How many people do you know personally that have died as a direct result of second-hand smoke? Not saying they haven't, just don't personally know any.Which would seem to contradict epidemic status. I do know people who've died of AIDs and alcohol, but not secondhand smoking, and believe me i spend a lot of time exposed to all three.

I think they care, but they're addicted to the feeling they get.
