Someone very close to me has a brain tumor...unfortunately he does not have insurance. Because of that his doctor wants him to pay up front which is not possible all the time. And because of that he is not getting the care that he needs. Does anyone know any phone numbers or websites that I could look into about any possible financial help for this issue? Any advice is very much appreciated...Thank you!

I am a 14 year old who was wondering how common it is for a person my age to get cancer. My grandfather had skin cancer, but he got it because he was outside a lot. In that side of the family, heart problems are common. On my mother's side, my great uncle died of lung cancer, but he smoked. Everyone on that side smoked, so I can't tell if lung cancer on that side is genetic. I exercise, eat a balanced diet, so what are my chances of getting any type of cancer?

The "growth" is located in the upper part of arm bone, not at the joint and is "sizeable". The doctor said that he wants to re-MRI in about 6 months and it is likely benign. Son is very healthy. Should I get a second opinion?

I am 37 and went for my first mamm as I have an indentation on my left breast with puckering below the indentation and a bulging vein. The mamm showed a "very conspicuous nodule 8mm diam. w/spiculated margins" on my left breast. The follow-up mamm showed "only questionable evidence of persistant nodularity." During the ultrasound the radiologist would find it, only to lose it again, so he reported the ultrasound as being normal. He then told me "it's too soon tell - come back in 6 months." No one ever looked at the exterior "symptoms" and both visits seemed rushed with little explanation. Is a second opinion needed, or is it fine to wait 6 months?

I went for an MRI, was called back for additional views, (the tech said this new Dr. always sends my patients back), & then immediately after 2nd mamo, I had Sonogram. While laying there, I asked the tech what does cancer look like on the screen, she said that cancer sometimes takes on different shapes & maybe a rugged edge. So I see a perfect circle on the screen, white outline black in center, & I ask what is that? She said it looks like a fluid sac that you know swells up when you get your period & goes down afterwards. OK I get the results in the mail; abnormal needs further testing. I call my Dr. & have to go to a surgeon now. I explained to everyone that I don't have breast cancer in the family only heart disease. I find out this cyst is 3-4 cm & has some shadowing & lesions & it's at 9:00; this was from the sono.; the Mamo detected nothing. I don't even feel this cyst, so I guess your would it's soft. After the 1st mamo I got the period the next day. The 2nd mamo was 2wks later.

I have a tumor in my left kidney. The diameter is 4.6cm. It is stage T1b. I already had CATSCAN. I will have MRI, CHEST CT, and BONE SCAN. My doctor told me I will have surgery to remove the kidney and may be reomoved the adrenal gland too. I don't understand why the adrenal has to be cut if the cancer does not spread out. I would like to know what happens to my health if the adrenal gland is removed; how long the surgery last? When I will be recovery after the surgery? Does anyone have the same my sickness? Please help me. Thank you very much.

If all the cancer was removed but the doctor said your chances of it returning at some point were 40% or higher, and all the treatments were experimental, would you take chemo, knowing it would probably have horrible side effects?

I'm hoping there might be some medical professionals out there reading this...one of the symptoms of colon cancer is blood in the stool. Does this have to be consistent blood in the stool, or would an occassional occurance fall in to that if a person is exhibiting the other signs/symptoms of colon cancer?
