I am a biologist so I will admittedly confess to being reluctant to acknowledge anything as either purely a result of divine action or mere lucky coincidence, but this is the sort of even that makes one think, "Wow!" Some things truly are unexplainable and I would have to say that yes, that is both God and a little bit of luck.

Secondly it is wonderful that you are able to look at your mothers diagnosis in a positive light! You should be commended for having had such a positive view on what otherwise should have been startling news!

This happens quite often. My mother-in-law took her daughter to the eye doctor, and ended up talking with the doctor, who then performed an immediate surgery to correct a detaching retina, saving her sight.

But credit God for creating outstanding human beings who are angels on earth, figuring these mysteries out, then giving their time and healing gifts to others.

Could be either, but I am inclined to think that it was God on this one. My PERSONAL view is that for the most part he doesn't mess around with the world too much (free will and all) but sometimes for one reason or another he/she feels the need to give something a nudge. I think it wasn't your mother's time that night.

Maybe you should ask God to give you better typing skills and a little blessing that can help you make more sense on the internet!

I am so glad you and Mother are well. God's too busy too tinker with people's lives, but keep the good thoughts.
