My dad has just been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas and I need some help please, I'm looking for more information about the diease and survival rates, he is 48 and really healthy, doesn't eat junk food and has an active job. I've looked on some websites and they say that the the survival rate for 5 years is less than 3%, although they also say that the common age is 60 - 80 which I guess could attribute to the low survival rate. I would be really greatful if people who have had any kind of experiance with this could respond as I'm really struggling to cope.

Thank You

My sister has a medulloblastoma tumor and her doctors at Childrens Hospital of Michigan told us that there was nothing else that they could do, so we are searching for other options.

In my opinion ive done alot a research and i have more symptoms of that than anything else. So that is why i am curious to know if its not detected in the blood could it be detected some where else?

I've tried talking to them about lung cancer, smelling like an ash tray, general good health, etc. Nothing really gets through to them. Any ideas?

...any ideas why my mom would still have bad abdominal pain 3 months after having surgery for ovarian cancer (stage 3). Brief overview is she had a total hysderectomy, part of her intestines removed, lymph nodes, partical colon removed, etc. The pain is always in the same area. She does have a partial bowel blockage, but is this all cancer related (or did they leave something in!) and if so will the chemo help her with the pain later? She just had her second chemo treatment a few days ago (carboplatnim). Thanks!

I am a male 17 year old, i recently started smoking, and iv smoked maybe 25-30 cigarettes in a 2 week span. However i have decided to quit while im ahead, because many people in my family have been smoking for years, and are addicted, and i dont want that.

but my question is have i done permanent damage to my body? is it possible i have cancer with such few times smoking?

i read somewhere that some people can metabolize the smoke fast enough before it causes harm, is this true or no?

my dad has been smoking unfiltered cigarettes (the kind you hand roll) for as long as i remember and does not have cancer, so im hopeing i dont have cancer or have done damage but im not sure.

what do you think?

I can't ask this question with out praising God. You may wonder why. Considering I grew up as the prettiest girl in my home town church. I was the one that turned folks heads and made mouths drop open. My biggest asset was my dark thick hair. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the first of the year, then learned it was in my lynmph nodes, and I also had 10 tumors in my liver. The medical team had silently given me up. I did not learn that till just a few months ago. My husband and I got into the Word of God and gave our tithes and offerings. I went to a great doctor. I'm cleared of all tumors. PTL! I was suppose to have chemo, radiation, and radical surgory. I'm now off the chemo, and only on herception. (That is great stuff!) I might have very little surgory. So now I'm left with fuss on my head. I can't tell my story and not rejoyce in God's awesome power. But do any of you have, Any ideas?

I've been having 2x per week chiropractic adjustments and 1x per week trigger point massage since April (7 months!). About 2 months ago I went to my primary care doctor with intense fatigue & trigger point pain along my spine and flanks. He ruled out a rhuematological cause based on blood work and gave me prescription strength NSAIDs which left me sleepy but didn't really improve my condition. I have trace white blood cells and "inflammation" in my urine. My flanks hurt, my lower back hurts and my entire upper back and the area along the left side of my spine hurts. I don't "hold" the chiropractic adjustments and I'm thinking my problem is more serious and not related to my spine at all. If I had some type of cancer and it spread to my spine and bones, would it show up on spinal xrays? I've been in daily pain for 8 months with no respite. I'm also terribly anemic, but the doc thinks this is due to the fact that I carry the trait for Thalassemia. I can't sleep and look un-well.
