I am a survivor for 3 years, but it's still the first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning. Will it always be like this?

Ok so recently after a friend has been diagnosed with testicular cancer I decided to research cancer and its treatment options. However in all of my research have I not found any treatment that makes the most sense to me. What I think of cancer is that it is a disease and every disease can be treated, however cancer sneaks under your immune systems radar so to speak. Now what I am wondering is if there has been any research on trying to activate the immune system to attack Cancer cells as if they are foreign bodies within the human body? That alternative just seems to make so much more sense than killing off a persons immune system with chemo, cutting them open with surgery, or treating them with radiation. Granted I am not an MD but I would love to hear from one on this question.

Thanks again guys.

My mom is 58 years old, she had colon cancer 8 years ago, she was clear for 7 years and in the last year has had a tumor form in her pelvis and spots on her lungs, both biopsied and results showed the same as her colon cancer. Yesterday she was diagnosed by x-ray of having stomache cancer, no biopsy yet to see if it is the same cancer, but assuming it is what is her chances of survival? She has lost 75 pounds in a year, 25 or more in the last 2 weeks while hospitalized. She has needed a blood transfusion, and went into renal failure 2 weeks ago. (she only has one kidney) She cannot eat solid foods, she will vomit, she has no appetite and is nautious all the time even with anti nausea meds. She is in extreme pain some days. The other night they maxed her out on narcotics, couldnt give her anymore without it being unsafe.
also she has had a colostomy bag for the past year because of the pelvic tumor.
so how bad does this sound and what is her treatment options and chances?

I came across a video clip at http://cancernewsnetwork.blogspot.com/2006/12/inflammatory-breast-cancer-ibc.html
which spoke in depth about inflammatory breast cancer. Is this disease really so dangerous?

My mother was diagnosed with having cervical cancer, she recently had surgery 2 months ago. The doctors are planning on an ?external? radiation for 6 weeks and then to start chemo for 6-8 months. At first she agreed but now shes getting second thoughts. Shes been talking to people and theysay to go in the direction of herbal medicine. MY QUESTION IS: What are good herbs to take instead of the medical treatments INCLUDE WEB SITES WITH INFO. I dont know what to tell her so i just listen to her talk but i would like info. I read that those that get only the surgery live longer than those that have the surgery and the treatment. IS THAT TRUE!

My mother is dieing of terminal cancer, we have been her care givers for the last few days as well as Hospice. They told us not to get our hopes up for Christmas. And noticed a drastic change in a matter of four days. And the nurses say they see the change as well. We would like to ask questions about the smell of death. We have recently noticed a smell to her vomiting and burps. And no matter if we leave her for a moment we can still smell it even if we leave the home. Has any of you experienced this type of thing before.
Thanks For Your Support.

My mother was recently diagnosed, she is on her 3rd of 10 days of radiation, with no change. She has extreme loss of function on her right side, and can no longer walk. What is the chances of her getting better?
She just got done with chemotherapy after having her left lung removed full of cancer.

I know it's not good, but realistically does she have a chance of pulling out of this?

Alright..I have these two bumps behind my ears. They're hard and round. But, in the same place. One is bigger than the other. They don't hurt.Could it be tumors?

I have had an enlarged lymph node for at least a year and a half. Went to doctor who gave me steroids to make inflamation go down but didn't work. Had me get an ultrasound which showed I had an enlarged lymph node (duh). She said I was fine and not to worry. I have no infections at all so there is no explanation for it to be enlarged. The doctor said it's just doing its job but if that is the case then I don't understand why she tried to make it go away and why she wanted an ultrasound of it. Ultrasounds do not tell if something is cancerous. I have had horrible night sweats and itching all over my body...not due to an allergic reaction. The "enlarged lymph node" is about 1cm in long and about 3/4cm wide. It does not hurt AT ALL in fact I cant even feel it in my neck. I can only feel it between my fingers. Much of what I am experiencing seems to be symptoms of lymphoma. Why do you think my doc does't think it should be biopsied?
Thanks in advance for your advice =)
