My daughter is 10, in the last week has developed a large (about 3 inch in diameter and getting bigger) lump in her right breast directly under her areola. She has not begun her menses as of yet and does not exhibit any other common symptoms of beginning puberty (no hair growth that is). I know that possibly it could be a cyst of some kind....the other breast is flat and normal, the affected breast's areola is swollen and tender as well. There is a long history of breast cancer in my family, my mother and my sister, both her maternal grandmother and aunt. I have scheduled a doc appt for tommarrow morning, but am thinking about possibly waiting another week or so to take her to the docs, just in case this goes away as suddenly as it appeared...pretty much I don't think that this is something that needs immediate attention as my daughter says it only really hurts when you poke at it. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Well I wanted to know if you have a DNA test (with a q-tip were they take a saliva sample) is it possible that if you have used drugs it will come out possitive, or would they have to do a more spicific test.

I live in Pt. Arthur,Tx. Doc told me I have nodules in thyroid.Need thyroid scan preformed at JohnSealy in Galveston.I was approved for reduced pay.But test will still cost $327.Where can I get aide to help cover this? Is there any agencies that might help? Tried redcross, sal army and all the usuals. Please help. Doc said its probally cancer. But due to the cost I'm denied being able to have the scan done which would tell me if it is. No johnsealy wont take payments(already tried that)If anyone out there works at johnsealy and can give me some inside tips, I sure would appreciate it.I'm only 42 and not ready to go now, but seems like because I'm low income that will be my fate!

Obviously a doctor has ways and can know for sure if you have cancer but, if you're just going to the doctor for a cold or some minor thing how would a doctor know to look and see if you have cancer? Does it have symptoms or say you have it and you don't know it but you never go to the doctor how would you find out? I'm just confused about this. Because the doctor isn't going to just be like ok now let me check for cancer at some random moment at you're appointment for strep throat or something. Anyways I don't know if I'm just rambling on or if this makes sense but I don't know how else to describe what I'm trying to ask.

They say that a cancer virus has a gestation period of 8 years. But one has to wonder how it gets into the blood to make a mutation there. I am wondering if the most likely place for some people is from the mouth when they get dental work done?

wondering if using the chemothearpy drug carboplatin has any adverse reactions to the above mentioned if used supplementally. All seem, based on internet research, to be pretty safe unless anyone knows differently.
