The only treatment I've heard of is an operation that requires breaking a small bone in the nose and creating a new tear duct. I wonder if there is a better treatment?

My problem is this. My friend has undergone treatments months ago and is now going through them again. If chemo don't work then its two differents sets of radiation. Things don't look good right now and my friend is not only sick from the treatment but in pain as well. To make matter worst, my friend lives across the ocean and the internet and phone is our only means of communication. Now, my friend doesn't reply or answer the phone. I feel as if my messages are being read. Any suggestions on how to cheer up my friend or a message that can be sent. I welcome any and all advice. Thank you in advance for your help.

Over the last couple of years several of my workmates have died from pancreatic cancer. They all worked in the same environment about 15 to 20 years ago for several years and have all developed the disease and died. The youngest , fittest men went down first and it caught up with the older ones a year or two later. The company's medical officers say our concerns are unfounded and it is pure coincidence that the same cancer has struck so many times.Does cancer attack more muscular men more vigourosly than older men and what could cause cancer of the Pancreas ?

Husband just had his total thyroid removed. Found out the tumor is papillary and small, but lymph nodes have cancer. He has to wait till the first of the year to do the radioactive iodine then a week later he does a body scan. I'm scaried to death to wait so long for the body scan. This waiting in llimbo is making me crazy. I think his age seems to be a factor, he's 58. I'm very concerned what will follow...............

She saw her physician who ordered a chest x-ray and is sending her to a physical therapist. Are there more tests she should have to rule out the chance of the cancer returning?

She's 66 and had breast cancer almost 15 years ago. I heard it is unusual that Lymphedema develops so long after her surgery and cancer treatments. It is in her right hand and is working it's way up her arm. Her physical therapist (she just had her first appt.) said that it is stage 2. Will her hand and arm ever look normal again? I feel so bad for her. Her Dr. also ordered an x-ray of her lungs. Could tumors cause lymphedema to develop? Also, it was very sudden. We were watching a movie and 2 hrs. later, her hand was 3 times the size of the other! She was also surprised at how they didn't tell her much about lymphedema when she was being treated for cancer. With all the exposure that breast cancer gets, they should really tell the public more about lymphedema!
