Cancer is basically just a loss of control of your bodys natural process to replace cells. With this in mind, "curing" it would also "cure" your body's ability to replace dead cells. This is basically what the side effects of current chemo drugs are, the tissues that have to replace themselves most often, like skin, hair and the lining of your stomach are affected so severely. By stopping the cancer, you also stop your body. However, there is a great deal of promise in genetic engineering, which would fix the part of the process that is malfunctioning. I remember a study that used viruses to implant the proper DNA into cancer cells with a specific type of cancer, and the cancer went into complete remission. Maybe someone can find that study, I'm just too lazy. : ) Unfortunately, at this time, it only works on that specific cancer. Given enough time and research however, you can bet that this process will be used to work on more and more types of cancer. This would be the "cure" you're speaking of.

There are a few reasons that cancer is difficult to cure.
1. Cancer is basically normal cells. Cancer is defined as the abnormal reproduction of cells. Basically for some reason the cells are reproducing themselves with out control like they normally do. This means that any abnormalities that normally would die out are carried on. It is like if a company made a defective product and knew they were but there was no stop button on the machine.
2. Cancer can have several causes. They can be environmental do you live down wind of 3 mile island? Have you been infected with a herpes virus? These both can cause cancer.
It can be genetic do you have a mutation in your genes like BRCA (BRest CAncer). This can increase your chance of getting cancer by up to 98%.
If you find one cure for cancer it may not work on all forms of cancer. There is no one "Magic Bullet". This is why after so much time there is not cure for cancer as a whole but people are getting close to curing some types like the Herpes virus one. There is not a vaccine that can help to prevent the virus form setting up shop and causing cancer.

Because "curing cancer" is a bit like "curing ageing", it's not a practical or maybe not even a possible goal. Cancer is a family of conditions where cell-growth regulation gets out of hand, and it's likely to be with us forever more.

"Cancer" is over 100 different diseases. And, no two cancers are the same. In fact, no two cancer cells are genetically the same . Cancers are very complex, diverse, and 'unique' diseases with one thing in common - cells that have lost normal controls regulating growth and replication. There are hundreds of biochemical mechanisms for loss of cellular controls. This is very complicated stuff.
By the way, after all this time why has no one found a cure for the common cold? Asthma? Diabetes? Heart Disease? Hypertension? Depression? Schizophrenia? Autism? ADHD? Rheumatoid Arthritis? Multiple Sclerosis? Myesthenia Gravis? Addison's Disease? Muscular Dystrophy? Alzheimer's Disease? Parkinson's Disease? ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)? Celiac Disease? Kidney Stones? Influenza? Osteoporosis? Etc. Etc. Etc.

Cancer is not just one disease. Cancers are different diseases depending on their point of origin, and even then there are differences. Many cancers can be cured if they are diagnosed early enough.

There is no money I think... Also, there is no money for people who have cancer for treatment. some one should move and stand quickly to search for these problems because people need them.

I beleive its poulations control... just like with AIDS, they had the cure in germany (i think) thats how magic johnson got rid of it. SO if they have it there & it works, why would our FDA approve it? Its populations control, think of how many people die each year from those 2 things alone.....alot!

CURES HAVE BEEN FOUND BY A "FEW" DOCTORS THAT LOST THEIR ABILITY TO PRACTICE MEDICINE ONCE THEY
CAME UP WITH A CURE AND OFFERED TO RELEASE IT!!!
IT SEEMS THAT IF A CURE IS GIVEN, IT WOULD PUT A DENT
IN THE BUSINESS OF A.M.A.!!! AND MONEY THAT'S BEING
PUT INTO CANCER RESEARCH!!! "BIG BUCKS" WOULD BE
LOST!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!

1 - It's a very complex disease.
2 - Research money is being wasted on other products. (Is cow flatulence still being studied?)
