The only treatment I've heard of is an operation that requires breaking a small bone in the nose and creating a new tear duct. I wonder if there is a better treatment?

I have had this problem too. First they tried drops to make sure it wasn't an infection. Then I had a surgery when they put a stint in the tear duct so the scar tissue could form around it and make a better passage. That worked for a few months then I was back to a watering eye and infections. The last resort was the surgery and I haven't had a problem since then. That was about 6 years ago. The surgery wasn't too bad and you can hardly see my scar at all.

That is the only thing that helped my sister, she had to have that surgery. She was told not to get a cold for 6 months or there was a chance it could block up again
