wondering if using the chemothearpy drug carboplatin has any adverse reactions to the above mentioned if used supplementally. All seem, based on internet research, to be pretty safe unless anyone knows differently.

I work at a cancer center, as a dietitian counselor. There are many questions when it comes to some alternative products during treatment.

At our facility, we ask patients to not use any herbs, herbal teas, supplements, or individual nutrients that may be antioxidants. The chemotherapy and radiation appears to cause the expected and desired damage by making free radicals. If you use something that is a targeted antioxidant, it may negate some of the treatment, and you will not get the full benefit of the treatment.

I would suggest that you not use the supplements until after the treatment. It may be that these products work if you use them for years, like green tea and ECGC, but we do not know whether it is valuable during the treatment.

There is still lots of research to do before we will know the final answer.
