I think your question might be- If some one is diabetic,is there any immune therapy.right?!OK.There were trails in type 1 diabetes ,an autoimmune disease which commonly occurs in children using auto antigens of islets of pancreas and also nicotinamide and of immuno suppressive drugs like cyclosporine.Side effects of drugs lead to abandonment of them. The new drug in this immune therapy is an anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody and trials have proven that it delays onset of type 1 diabetes.Studies on large scale have to be carried out for such interventions before introducing it into market. As far as most common type of diabetes-Type 2 (adult type)is concerned ,there is no role for immune therapy as it is not an autoimmune disease.
