I'm experiencing other side effects, too. Hair loss, joint pain but no nausea. I have the really good nausea meds, but I hesitate to take them because what I'm experiencing doesn't feel like nausea. It feels like acid reflux or something along those lines.

My suggestion to you is to take the nausea medicine that was prescribed. My doctor always told me that it is much easier to prevent nausea than to fix it once it has gotten bad. After my second round of chemo, in 2003, i started vomiting uncontrollably. I was given Ativan. It worked, but it sucked because I literally slept all day from taking it.

But don't forget that everyone's reaction to chemo is different. I hope you don't start vomiting like that. Stay strong!!!!! =o)

Did they give you a number to call if you have questions? I would call where you are getting the treatments, and see what they say to do.

My husband had the same drugs for lung cancer. He didn't have a stomach ache, but he did have severe itching on his hands. He got something for that.

Have you tried taking Tums or something similar? And do call and find out what to take. I'm sure the nurses have a remedy for most every side-effect.

My husband had 3 rounds of chemo, and then had the upper lobe of his right lung removed. The surgeon said the chemo had killed all of the cancer. He has been fine for nearly 10 years! That combination of drugs you are taking is a good one! He was in clinical trials for the drugs way back then. His surgeon and oncologist used his case when they went to conferences to demonstrate the effectiveness of the drugs! My husband said they should take him along on the trips for living proof! LOL

Eating well helps keep up your strength, too, so don't hesitate to take the pills for nausea if you do experience it. Good luck with your treatments! Feel free to email me if you need a little support. :o)

It is good to hear that you are not experiencing nausea. The dosage pattern of different drugs put into different individuals gives different symptoms.
The newer aim for treatment is to give a lower dose of medicine for longer to minimize the aggressive symptoms with the hair falling out and "skin" troubles - skin, intestines, stomach etc.
Best wishes on your treatment.

I took Phenergan for nausea, and just drank lots of Pepto Bismal or Mylanta for the reflux.
Best wishes to you!
